Wasn't the core support only painted black on the bottom portion?

Make sure you get the correct height gasket. Hardtops use a shorter gasket than sedans do.

As said above, the hole is for the remote mirror adjusting knob. The mirror on your car isn't factory equipment.

I don't know about the year interchange but my books show Dart sedan and Valiant sedan to interchange on the same year.

No on the Dart, it has a arch in the chrome bezel and the Barracuda is flat. There is some other bezels that are flat in 1968, one of them is a Satellite.

Post car is the difference. The Barracuda windshield interchanges with the hardtops.

A 1967 and 1968 2 door post cars uses the same windshield as a 4 door post car from 1967 through 1976.

1968 has a round metal threaded housing that has a special screw on nut the same size as the OD threads.

See if there is a correct size for a knock out punch that is used for electrical box holes.

The body measurements for the sheet metal wouldn't be affected by different tires and wheels.

Wiper seals, the fresh air box is leaking or the cowl is rusted out.

You might try so lubrication on the moving parts also. Something may be sticking.

The feedback I have seen has stated that the red doesn't match the red on the tail lights. If that is true I wouldn't use it. I would make sure and get a color sample to compare before I place an order.

The picture I brought over from the other thread shows some of the housing also cut. It is a shame they didn't give you any measurements. Sadly, I don't know the answer. If it was me I would chop the shaft off at the housing to start with and see if it will go back to where you want it.

Is that yours? You got it apart? If so you need to chop it off as shown in the picture and you will be ready to set it back up.

Looking at this picture, it looks like the shank may be tapered. Have you tried wacking on the stud?
