    Parking brake cables

CFD244: Are you talking about the spring inside the drum? The one between the backing plate and the lever? Just trim a bit of that to increase the length of the short one? Mcode: 68 cables are different from 69 cables and I have a mix of the two? Which is which?

    Parking brake cables

Been working on my parking brake on my 69 Dart because I am bored. The parking brake has never worked really well, so i am looking into it. The cables are not frozen and move well. I did notice that one cable is about an inch or so longer. I also noticed that they are not the same on the...

    Brake pedal height question

Use an adjustable push rod. I got mine from Summit, it is a quality unit. That way you can customize the pedal height to your desire. I like mine in line with my clutch pedal.

Working on a 69 340 swinger dart 4-speed. Never done this before, so any help is much appreciated. I have a off-set for master cylinder kit with a aluminum MC from the Doctor and a adjustable push rod from Summit. Does the push rod attach to the brake pedal from the opposite side of stock...

    Heat shield for MC

Thanks for looking! I got a master cylinder heat shield for my 69 swinger from Mancini. The car uses a manual master from a 73 dart with disc brakes, so four bolt. The shield hits the firewall, so a good chunk needs to be cut out of the bracket and shield to make it fit or try to pound out the...

    HF Pneumatic Brake Fluid Bleeder

The fountain of death has killed much enthusiasm over the years. That is the point when i stopped doing the petal pump bled and started thinking about another way of bleeding. I did bench bleed the master before I put it on, but when I hooked up the dry lines I got bubbles coming up through...

    HF Pneumatic Brake Fluid Bleeder

I actually have one of those, never had much luck with it. I must be using it wrong. I put in all new metal lines, wilwood prop valve and MC. So, I am looking for the best way to get all the air out. Man I hate bleeding brakes

    brake size

Trying to put a wilwood adjustable proportion valve on my 69 Dart. Does anyone know the actual size of the hard lines? I was thinking 5/16 for front and 3/16 for back? Man is this a headache. Thanks!!

    New proportioning valve leaking

Thanks 74 Dart for the info and help. I placed an ad for a weather head valve. It would be what mother Mopar wanted. Brakes are kinda important.

    New proportioning valve leaking

I was replacing the original drum brake valve with one for front discs. So, I don't know what to do now. If you have a good used one let me know. I was really hoping to put the engine back in this week.

    New proportioning valve leaking

Thanks 74 Dart for the info. That sucks that they are all crap. Looks like rebuilding it is the answer here. I tightened the **** out of it and it still leaked. Maybe I will try replacing the copper o-ring. This is frustrating! Send me over that addy when you get a chance. Thanks

    New proportioning valve leaking

It is leaking right below the hex nut on top of valve. Factory stuff is always better then anything "new". Sent an E-mail to in-line tube asking for a new one. Used flair wrenches to tighten it up. When you say back-up wrench do you mean like tightening the wrenches against each other? Might...

    New proportioning valve leaking

Working on the brakes of my 69 swinger. For some reason i decided to replace all of my hard lines. I bought a new proportioning valve from in line tube and it leaks where the front brakes feed into it from the MC. Not from the line itself, but the fitting that goes between the block and the...

Junkyard F body vs New A body?

The way I see it. Made for a Mopar in the USA ( JY Aspen ) or a cobbled together kit that is made in China ( E-bay ) Mother Mopar for me.

??O-ring for manual push rod bolt??

Need an o-ring for a manual push rod bolt? That bolt that attaches the master cylinder push rod to the brake pedal. I found a replacement at Lowes in the faucet repair section. It is a Danco #41 O-ring. Works perfect!! Just grease it up for that new car feel!! ( See picture further down in thread )

    MASTER CYLINDER BOOT RETAINER

Hello Mopar nuts, I have a '69 swinger that started life with manual drums. I have converted to Mopar discs from a later model Dart. Not wanting to have a power booster in the way of everything...Why did mother Mopar have to put EVERYTHING on the left side?!? Could the battery and starter have...
