Try this, find the marks and clean them up, then take some kind of white marker, or white paint on a toothpick and mark the groves to highlight them. They should show up well under the timing light when the engine is running. I've done that with my cars and it really helps.

I assume you're talking about an 8 cyl. car? When I did mine I had to loosen up the motor mounts and jack the engine up as well as turning the wheel to make room, and it was still a tight fit getting it out.

It looks like I'm going to need an exhaust system for my 273 2 bbl, which is a 2" system. All I can find is the 2 1/2" for the Commando engine. Does anyone make the 2" size or will I need to have it custom made at a local shop? Thanks.

I have that leak down problem with the Carter 4682 on my Road Runner. But for some reason the 3854 and 4120 on my Barracudas don't have that problem. Having the 3 cars to drive sometimes they could sit for a few weeks at a time and when I get back to them there is still gas in the filters so...

It's single HP Exhaust as it came from factory.

Accurate Exhaust has the parts. Buy them separately and not as a kit, it's cheaper that way. I got those same parts for my '65 Formula S. For some reason though the only problem I had was that the engine pipe and the pipe over the axle were too long with the muffler I got, which I thought...

Well, how about the alignment of the bolt holes and exhaust port alignment. Is that the same? On the left side of my '65 Commando 273 the manifold angles upwards before it turns down. Do the 67+ manifolds do that also? Thanks again.

Does anyone know if the exhaust manifolds from a 66-67, 273s are the same ones used on the '64-65, 273's? I know that the parts numbers will be different but that's not a problem.

No, it's a '64. The vin and dash show it to be a '64. Also, in another post someone said that the '64 production ended on, IIRC, 7-9-64. Someone please correct me if I wrong.

'65 is the first year of Barracudas'? So what is the one I have in my garage that says it was built in June of '64?!? I wish these guys would get their facts straight before posting ads.
