Magnum heads convert to sbc rockers?

They are still a little noisy compared to regular rockers. I'll be adjusting them next week and see if that makes any difference. You only really notice them with the hood open and it idling. The engine seems to like the combo, it has a ton of torque and revs well.

    X heads on a 360?

CC one chamber in each X head, you'll then know the chamber size on them. After you replace the old heads clean a chamber and cc it. I bet they are within 2 cc's of each other. The ported heads will be a improvement!!!!

90 roller la block advantages & opinions.

I built my motor on that block, sent the can to Bullet racing cams and had it reground, I used magnum heads and new rods and pistons. That should have a block off plate where the fuel pump goes. The cam has a long snout for the concentric. I used factory lifters, Eatons I believe. It's a great...

    Very noisy PCV valve

I'm watching this, mine does the same thing. I have a steady 18" of vacuum at idle. I figured I had a bad PCV, although it's new.

timing cover and water pump confusion

I just thought I'd mention one more thing, the harmonic balancer should have the correct timing marks. My new one had 2 timing notches, I painted a white mark on the correct one to avoid confusion. It looks like they had marked for either timing chain cover.

    I think I screwed up.

66/67 273 closed chamber heads will work fine!!!!! They are the same casting on early 318's. Bolt them suckers up with the thinest head gasket you can find and enjoy your ride.

Magnum heads convert to sbc rockers?

I really don't know, the machine shop picked them out. I got the guide plates from Edelbrock If I remember right. We used 7/16th studs for the rockers, the machinist thought it was a good idea. It's a mild roller cam but the open spring pressure is 320#s. I hope that helps. I used the regular...

Magnum heads convert to sbc rockers?

Here are a couple of picsof my heads. I used push rod Guide plates which aren't on the mock up pics. It's been 2 years now with no problems. I don't really push the motor that hard, it runs nice. They are slightly noisy, I've heard it described " sewing machine sound".

    New camshaft install questions

Yeah, thats a little too hot. I spent a year in Vietnam and that kind of heat gets old quick. Went on R&R with a bunch of Aussies to Taipei, what a wild time. You guys know how to have a good time. Good luck with your build. Double check everything. My cam is a reground roller, seat pressure is...

    New camshaft install questions

When I installed my cam I used a degree wheel. It's a Bullet regrind on a 110 intake center line. It came in at 109 when I checked it, so I checked it 4 times. When I called them. Their answer was " good to go, it will make very little difference. This was a mild cam so lift wasn't a big...

    360 magnum rocker question

The studs have a flange on the bottom. They are sandwiched between that flange and the head. You place the guide plate on the rocker tower, then screw in the studs thru the guide plate into the tower. Some alignment is necessary to center the roller on the valve stem.

    360 magnum rocker question

Yes on my setup, but you can get those rockers in the magnum stem size too. I had mine drilled for 7/16th studs. The valve springs are 120 on the seat and 320 open. The machinist thought it was a good idea. I'm ironing out the bugs now but I'm impressed with the power and broad torque curve. One...

Replacing 302 heads with magnum heads

The 340 exhaust manifolds do fit but I had to double gasket them to get them to seal. The magnums are more expensive in that you either have to order them with the la intake pattern or get a Eddie intake. Yoe also need to get the correct pushrods, lifters and I had the studs replaced with...

Replacing 302 heads with magnum heads

I put a set of magnums on my LA360 and really like them. You need to get new pushrods and lifters, they oil through the rockers through them. The push rods will need to be measured to get the preload correct. The chambers are smaller, mine came in at 68cc's.
