Does anyone know if the 68-72 8 3/4 10" drum brake emergency brake levers that are attached to the brake pads and emergency brake cables are interchangeable with those from a 7 1/4 drum brake rear?

I called Wilwood when I did mine. Suggest you do the same. They suggested a stock aluminum master from an Aspen with the large bore - 1 1/8 I believe. Mine has rear drums. I bypassed the stock distribution block and used an adjustable proportioning valve.

I have Willwood in the front and they work great. Also used th eRight Stuff before and the brake lines were nice and fit well.

Success. Clamping the rod in a vice and using a BFH did the trick. Thanks to all for recommendations.

OK I will get more physical with it and us a bigger BFH. Using a screw driver throught the pedal ring and all my weight against the bench it would not budge. A regular hammer was useless also. Mini sledge hammer time! Are the rubber gromets to hold the rod in available and if so where?

Here is a picture of the master I took off. I have not been able to remove the rod. That is why I was looking for a replacement. The bolted flange holds the piston assembly in the bore and does not hold the rod in place. What is the best way to get this rod out of the bore? My next step is...

I suspect my replacement master is from a later vehicle. THe replacement cannot accept the bolt on flange that goes with the existing rod and rubber boot assembly.

Is there no way to use diffferent backing plates from a B or E body housing and use the B or E body brake drums?
