Who wants a mopar turbo kit?!?!

Count another one sold! I'm very interested in your product, seems like you are being very thorough. I wish you'd stop being so selfish and get these kits ready for sale instead of playing with your own car, though ;)

    Trying to get 400hp from a 360

Check out this thread: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=1175 It's a few years old, but I imagine it could give you a good starting point.

    mystery liquid and rattling

I'll check out the radiator. Oil looks clean from the dipstick... I would think a blown head gasket would really dampen the low down power and it seems like the liquid would resemble antifreeze a little closer; but I've no experience with blown head gaskets. Thanks for the input!

    mystery liquid and rattling

I have a 74 318 with 120k on the motor. About 15-20k ago, I put on new full length headers, 2.25 dual exhaust (no x-over) with some summit mufflers, eddy air gap, eddy 650, and replaced the timing chain. I recently got the car out of storage and drove it about 500 miles to North Carolina and it...

    Are Shorty Headers Worth Getting

It's really not that awful to install headers. It took me and a buddy a full day's work, sure, but it was nothing impossible; just slow, determined working. A set of pickle forks and a big stick are a must to get the steering linkage to submit to your will. I didn't even have to jack up the...

    Timing cover gasket?

Oh yeah satellite internet!! I'm actually on the South Pole right now :color: Alright alright, I've rushed through enough things and made sh*t harder down the road in the past. Thought I'd ask, one never knows... Thanks guys!

    Timing cover gasket?

Hey I discovered that the engine issues that I posted 2 weeks ago were due to the timing being off by 15* initial!!! I can't believe that thing still ran, let alone made it up the hill to my house. Anyway, my newest question is whether or not to use a gasket or a slathering of Permatex for the...

    Sometimes you hate them...

well it's not the Carburetor, so it is as suspected; timing chain. I've decided that I am going to replace the waterpump, oil pan, and possibly the cam while I have it all off the engine. The cam, of course, can be discussed elsewhere, but does anybody have a recommendation on the oil pan and...

    Sometimes you hate them...

I'll yank the carb and look into it, I disassembled it and cleaned it a while back when we changed the fuel pump/lines/filter and I know the crud you're talking about. There was about 2 gallons in the tank at the time, maybe less. We've run it a good deal, between checking the cylinders for fire...

    Sometimes you hate them...

I've heard of the floats going bonkers, but I set the level properly a few months ago. I highly doubt the stop could have readjusted them for me, though. The carb is the first thing I'm going to check out. Too bad I don't have a spare one :thumblef: sitting around that I can slap on there just...

    Sometimes you hate them...

Odds are, I just bumped the stick into neutral to stop, it's what I usually do. I know the car was not in gear when I stopped, but could the clutch being engaged or disengaged have an effect? Thanks Redline and Longarm

    Sometimes you hate them...

The brakes on my car are just good 'ole manual master cylinder powered brakes. I kind of forgot to mention the engine involved... It's a 318 in a 74 Duster. The engine has 115,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of (regular oil changes, never over heated). Other than running a bit rich...

    Sometimes you hate them...

Okay, on my way to school this morning, I had to make an abrupt stop to keep from breaking the law and my engine went insane. It dropped real low RPMs then died on me. It took a bit to start it back up and once I did it felt like a cylinder was dead. The car had absolutely no power down low and...

    general engine question

Those are tall orders for me, I don't know anything at all about timing an engine. I'll read up on everything I can find and give it a whirl. Thanks MrMoparTech

    general engine question

I get the feeling that my 318 isn't quite running how it should. It's a bit leaky and I really want to rebuild it over the summer, but that's not why I posted this... It seems like my carb is not quite jetted properly of the timing is a little off. If I get on it pretty hard and open up the...

    318 rebuild/upgrade

I know there are a lot of question of this nature, but everyone's car is unique and I'm a slow learner :thumblef: . I have a 318 in my 74 Duster with the factory 3spd (4spd is at the top of the list right now). I don't know what size gears I have, but the tires are 215 60 r15's and the rear is...

    Crank End Play

In my completely irrelevant and uneducated opinion, .004 sounds good to me, .012 seems a wee bit high and I don't see what advantage there would be in that much jangle.

    Engine Storage Issues

You can store it in my Duster for a few years if you'd like, I'll take real good care of it! In all seriousness, I'm not really sure, rust is a hard Demon to keep away, maybe buy enough oil to submerge the entire engine...

    360 questions

This is quite a wealth of information coming my way, thanks! As far as power goes, I don't have a specific goal. Basically, I have a potentially free 360 block (depending on what dad ends up doing with the truck) and I'd be willing to give it a thorough (patient!) rebuild while I run the...

    360 questions

My dad owns a 1987 Dodge 360 custom pickup, I don't really know much about it except that it has a 360 in it and a four speed manual with a low "granny gear" for tearing houses off their foundations. I am basically wondering (given the engine is in good shape) what would make it a suitable...

    Question bout headers

I went with Hedmans as well, not an easy install, but nothing broke and they fit great! And the paint hasn't melted off or anything, which I fully expected. I would recommend them.

    knocking.... at random times

I think I had the same sort of problem with my engine after I installed the new manifold. I left off a cap for one of the vacuum inlets or something on the manifold. As soon as I capped it, it idled much smoother and the knocking disappeared. I'm just throwing in my two cents, but odds are I...

    spark problems

Check out the Balast resistor as well (white ceramic thing that should be mounted toward the back of the engine compartment on the driver's side). Mine gave me a world of trouble back in January and caused me to unneccessarily replace a good number of parts. It's probably only about 5$ to replace.

    74 340 Cuda! what should i do?

::Guilty:: I'm sure you can find a load of guys on here who'd be willing to take the car off your hands to get it running...if some arm twisting was involved.
