These are the replacements I ordered, unfortunately. I may have to try to open the holes up as described above. I tried to source LH grade 8 tap bolts but they are silly expensive. Maybe a wanted ad might be in my future.

Nitro is the only company I know of that makes anything steeper than 3.55 for the 741 case. Might be the only game in town for 3.23

Jim, may be worth having a conversation with Bad440 (Mike). He's doing that exact work himself as I type & recently picked up the gauges to set the wear pattern. Just a thought.

10" drums will work just fine with your 14" wheels. Youll also have to oblong the holes on the shock plates if you havent picked up the 8.25/8.75 plates.

I ended up just calling Randy's Ring & Pinion & just asking the guys there. They confirmed that although there are two different carriers, the housing will indeed accomodate both. Good enough answer for me, and I thought I would share. Now to find a carrier & set of gears.
