The new gears and crush collar are a different style. The old crush sleeve actually was between the bearings. The new 1/2" collar just sits on the step in the stem.

Dodge HellCats easy pick for thieves in the know?

They do have remote starters that just plug into the OBD ports. I think you need to program them with valid keys to work.

Dodge HellCats easy pick for thieves in the know?

The push button systems are pretty smart with rolling codes ect. The guys stealing them are probably showing up with preprogrammed modules and swapping them in. Or they are stealing the keys idk. They are not smash and grab amateur thugs

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

If the light comes back you will probably want a scan tool that you can see the sensor voltage while you wiggle and inspect the wiring. Where did you get the sensor?

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

The computer checks the oil sensor for 0 at key on. If the cap is not leaking it is fine. You did it exactly the way I have done them. Just tighten it till it bottoms out. The oring provides a lot of drag it will not loosen up.

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

So the P0520 code is a Koeo test that runs after the engine has been off long enough for the oil pressure to bleed down to 0. It checks to see if the oil sensor is less than .29 volts or more than .71 volts. I don't think the oil is gonna be the problem. See what happens.

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

Anything is possible I guess. But you'd have to break out the tube to get the new filter in the old housing. Do you have oil pressure with the old filter on the newer style.

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

I don't think the oil filters can be swapped. The early element fit over a plastic center tube and the newer one the tube is part of the filter.

3.6 Pentastar oil pressure sender woes.....

What is the P code set? The oil pump runs off a chain and is in the pan. It is a 2 speed variable vane pump with a solenoid that switches between high and low. There are 2 different oil filters depending on year.

Grinding, " diesel " noise under valve covers

I was just checking a head with rockers on the bench. You can move the rockers side to side an 1/8 inch with no push rods and pressure on them. They may be no space between the rockers but they are just floating on the shaft and against each other but there's no pressure there pushing them...

    8.25 rear....1985 sure grip swap into a 1973 housing?

The pinion depth shim is gauged off the housing. The gears may have a variance from zero number on the pinion. A factory service manual will chart that can help you decipher a shim change if needed. The easiest way to start is to use the shim that came set from the factory move it to your new...

    8.25 rear....1985 sure grip swap into a 1973 housing?

You will need the shim from the pinion off the 2.71 gears as a starting point to set up the 3.21 gears in your housing. Other than that the 8.25 is one of the easier rear ends to do.

If you get a complete 3rd member with a good gear set already set up you can always add a posi to it. You won’t have to worry about measuring and setting the pinion depth.

    03 Ram 5.7 Hemi problems.

It may have an O2 sensor that is sticking rich. The computer pulls fuel out trying to get to the O2 to read lean but it doesn't switch. You need a scan tool to look at the fuel trim and see what its doing.

Could be the rear end. The pinion bearings are quite common to go out on those trucks. You could jack up the back end, put it on some jacks stands and run it with the tires off the ground. Then see where the noise comes from. The pinion bearings will echo up the drive shaft and seem to come from...
