cam is shot or a lifter failure either way it needs both and yes when i actually pull the parts i will post them, however that doesnt explain the spring retaining plate or spinner being different than the rest .... and the gallery means here in my photo gallery is a pick of the spring and...

ok so now who has a good recommandation for a cam going in a truck with 488 gears and it cant be stock or so much it needs stall but i'd like it to hit good and have lots -o- torque?????? oh and did i mention affordable??? lets see what we come up with lol

spring does not appear to be broken as for it looks just like the intake spring and yes it is all moving up and down just not moving the rocker arm ?????

where the valve stem sticks thru the top of the valve spring there is a flat plate holding the spring down that plate looks as if it was sucked in around the area of the valve stem making it concave in the center

ok more updates ok lets see lack of camera.... ok the top of the valve spring is a plate on all valves the plate is flat ..... on the non moving valve that plate is sucked down into the top of the spring making it concave towards the valve what would cause this ???????

update .... the sleet and freezing rain has stopped work on the intrepid but i did turn over the 318, and no rocker arm movement at all on the exhaust valve and the push rod spins freely..... how much up and down movement should a push rod have when the valve is shut ?????? and the rocker arm is...

tomarrow i am first putting an alternator on a dodge intrepid then i am starting the ole girl and checking the lift of the rockers since i already pulled the valve cover lol hopefully they both open and close the same as the number 4 cyl. if thats the case then were on too the timing chain set...

2 looks like the rest , pulled cover and no rod thru the rocker, with running if u pull the plug wire it quits popin on number 2 cylinder.

just south of huntsville in owens cross rds harleydodge1 and no push rods thru the rockers the cover is off and they all look normal for 91000 miles that is lol, and now its wait for day light as for i can no longer hold the light work and see all at the same time lol

360scamp it has an original 91000 old man miles on it and ran great up until earlier when i was puttering down the road and then pop pop pop everytime you try to give it gas

ok i pulled the wires one at a time ... did ya'll know that could be electrifing to say the least lol, so any way the number 2 cylinder stops the popping when the wire is disconnected so i guess i will have to wait for day light and pull the valve cover thx again and please post more ideas if...

ok going to remove valve covers and there is no choke on this puppy lmao makes her alil cold collared in the winter lol no vaccum leaks i think and yea it does idle ruff as all get out but it will crank without touching the gas , just when you load the motor up it pops bad and runs ruff and...

no water in gas in fact it will crank with out touching the gas and idle .... but ruff... man hope it aint a mech. failure.. please keep it all coming cause its gotta run by monday at the lastest and right now it wouldnt yank a turd out of a septic tank lol

this is an absolute stock 318 sorry for not saying that earlier, and would or could that change if it was running fine and then just all the sudden ????? and thanks mad dart this has got me bummed out.

ok question is : my 318 is popping in the carb under load, runs ruff at an idle, i have replaced every part of the ignition system, checked for fuel it is getting plenty, rewired the distribitor twice just to make sure im not crazy,and no change?????? keep in mind the auto was under no disstress...

the tf i have is out of an older twd truck as well but i do have the 360 tq conv. and flex plate oh and what about headmen headers as for i have a set of them too

ok the issue is quite simple i have a nice 2 dr swinger and can't decide if i should start the build with a 360 4bbl and a 727 tf which came from a 1979 dodge snow commando 4x4, plus the small block parts i already have a.k.a. hooker headers........... or i just got a 400 2bbl in a 1975 dodge...
