    8.8 rear in my A-body. I cant be the first!

    All this hype...you can put an 8.8 in it and go back to 8.75 just as easy. It's not like you are sub-framing and destroying the car. It's just an axle. Sheesh!

    Kickdown setups

    In my opinion, you do need to have the shifter linkage set correctly first.

    Can I move my 65 without the park cable?

    I think that the cable pushes and engages the park lock. It should roll free without it on there, but it may have to be pulled to the neutral position to start with (should be there from removing the cable). I am pretty sure it will leak fluid unless you plug the hole. I left my cables loose...

    early 904 cables: problem --> PANIC--> RUSH

    I didn't take it apart, but I am putting it back. i got the engine, tranny back in, put the cables in (shifter and park) and the park cable looks like it will go right into place, but the shifter cable is about 9 inches too far in the car. Also, they are both going through the same hole in the...

    shifter cable drives me mad - heat pbm`?

    It is a hard plastic housing, and if it is getting hot, it gets stretchy and you lose the rigidity therefore control. Try insulating it or isolating it with a heat shield to see if that solves it.

    Converter to flex plate issues

    I thought this thread was going to be the same problem I just encountered with bolting a flex plate to the convertor. All was well, convertor went into the trans nicely, the flex plate went onto the crank nicely, I knew I had to align the "hole" on the flex plate with the "V" on the convertor. I...

    904 question HELP!!!!

    First, let me say I know very little about transmission internals. That being said, I have a 65 model 904 that was rebuilt by a local shop about 2 years ago with a mild shift kit. It has sat on a rolling pallet in my garage ever since. I am getting close to installing it behind a commando 273. I...

    7 1/4 repair

    I dollied home a 65 barracuda with a 7 1/4 sure grip. I undid the u-joint and when I got home (about 120 miles) the diff was soaked with dope and when I reconnected the drive shaft and drove it into the driveway, the rear end roared. The guy I bought if from said the front seal (pinion???)...
