    500 vs 600

what cam is in the car? are you drag racing or mostly driving on the street? Do you already have dual exhaust? With the cost of stuff, if your car is running ok, do you want to spend the money on a larger carb, that on the street there will be very little difference? That said, I am...

    LD4B or LD340

There is no "H" or "X" balance tube, so thats why the "Blatty" sound when hitting the gas. A balance tube was used by Mopar on Big Block cars mostly, so thats why I didn't bother with one, but if you buy a "Flowmaster" kit they come with an exhaust balance tube "H" pipe. I noticed a...

    GM carb on my 400

The Quadrajet carbs would pass Emissions testing, where the Thermobogs would not. The Q'jet is also an easy to tune carb,'if you are familiar with it. My 2 cents.

    LD4B or LD340

What engine are you using and what rear gears, and cam?? I am using a LD4B, on my 318. Awesome for my setup. 318, stock bore, the block cleaned up very nice, # 302 heads, stock valves size, cut .005-.007 to clean up, stock 2.93 sure grip 7.25 rear, Mopar .430/.450 cam, Edelbrock 1406...

    1966 273 afb

Maybe the car was built on a Monday, and the guy was hungover, and threw the wrong carb on. LOL. Remember these cars were built on an assembly line, not one at a time.

    273 intake bolt angle

I am using an LD4B, on my 318. Small ports work better for street use, on a small engine.

    Weiand Action+ or Eddy Performer

If the 273 does not have dual exhaust yet, I would leave the 2bbl on, and add duals first. The engine needs to breath!! If you low on bucks; add duals, and leave the 2 bbl on it. You will get more performance from the dual exhaust, than a 4bbl carb change, and you will still get...

    megasquirt?

From what I have read about the mega$$quirt system its not cheap, in the long run unless you are using a Chevy engine. LOL. :( What do you use for a bolt in distributor, was one of the unanswered Mopar questions, when I looked at this stuff a few years back. Edelbrock carb is easier to...

    stock Mopar air cleaner housing

For my 273 4bbl air cleaner I used a cheap, 9 or 10 inch fits all air cleaner base. I took the air cleaner, and base with me to Advance Auto parts, and tried different filters to fit. Took only 3 tries to find the air filter element.

    Carb upgrade on 65 dart 2bbl 273

Another thing, if the 273 is a 1964/65 engine, the intake has a 2 year only pattern, the intake for the 1964-65 engine is hard to find. {read not cheap, from a junkyard. :(} A 273 has very small ports, if you do decide to go with a 4bbl, be sure to use a small port size intake, not a...

    Carb upgrade on 65 dart 2bbl 273

if your not going to upgrade the cam, and add dual exhaust i would suggest leave the 2bbl on. I would suggest add the dual exhaust before adding a 4bbl, this will be a noticable improvment. I have a 64 Valiant, 273 2bbl, and had a 67 Valiant, 273 2bbl, with both cars, I added...

    15 Gallon Tank Problem Solved

Wow, neat setup, :thumblef: I see you were smart, and vented the "boat" tank outside too. :) Do you hit the road a lot, where the fuel stations are 100 miles apart? http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=10537

Which Intake LD4B or Air Gap

I would use the # 302 heads on a 318 and with those heads an LD4B. A medium cam, and dual exhaust off the stock exhaust manifolds, works good for a 318. I used a Mopar Performance cam. .430/.450 lift. Stock 2:94 rear gears, the car runs nice, has a little rumble at idle, and...

    Intake Casting Numbers

Well lets get into the time machine, and go back to when it was built; in 1966 Edelbrock had not yet made the LD4B, so if you had a 273 small block engine, and wanted to put a larger carb on it you had few choices,LOL. Actually those manifolds are good to 6,000 rpm, the low range is where...

What to do with the carb ??

I agree under 100 psi is tired, I would double check that the exhaust flapper is open on the passenger side exhaust manifold, and for less money, get duals off the stock manifolds. You will notice a difference even with a 2bbl. :) Works fine for me.Before I rebuilt my 318, to...

    ld4b on a 340

It will bolt up.Don't forget it was made for the 273/318,and for a 340/360 is really too small. I am using an LD4B on my 318, because it has smaller ports. Your stock manifold will probably work better, if you still have it. Are you upgrading the cam? If so then you really should...
