Ok, so I found a part # from Orielly's auto parts - Pioneer CA3014. It has the correct 3/4" thread at the transmission end and is a push-on at the speedo end.

I installed a 68 speedometer into my 67 Barracuda automatic and ordered a new speedo cable but the transmission end thread is too small. The other end just pushes in and it's ok. Can anybody tell me what part to order? I used Oreillys and it not right.

Is there a pan available for my 904 that has a drain plug? I am hoping not to go with a deep pan.

From the above comments sounds like I'm better off sticking with the 904. I'm just looking for cheap & easy.

I am wondering if I can replace my stock 904 transmission with a 727. I've got a bone stock 69 Barracuda with a 318 engine and a tired 904 transmission. Are there any advantages or disadvantages? Will the linkage all fit?

If it were my 6 banger I'd just change the fluid and run the darn thing. I've never seen a bad one. If you're going to race it that's another issue but for daily driving it'll probably run to 500k miles.

No the bell housing is only good for the 6 banger.

For what it's worth, also check the dipstick tube - make sure it's all the way seated or you'll get a false reading.
