i put a stock mechanical pump on a 340 with a stout cam and 770 holly street avenger carb . works fine over 6000rpm i thought i would need to upgrade but not yet.

the locker works good for me now but at first i didnt have enough travel for the transmition to work right and i found out their is a bracket for mopars that bolts on the carburator that gives it more travel. then it was perfect.

make sure you use the kick down adapter bracket that bolts on to the carburetor throttle lever.( i have no pitchers) it extends the length of travel for the kick down cable.

is it snowing up their allready.idont use any with my10.5cr 340 on93 octain. has no ping with 36deg total advance.

anouther issue automatic trans kick down with a chevy carb can be a pain in the ***

try removeing the transmition linkedge. dont drive it just see how the pedel feels. if it feels good thats your problem.

I have one on a near stock 340 and i cant get the trans paced wright with the carb throttle position (sec come in to soon).I am shure i will have more low end torqe and better throttle response with a vac. sec.Man valve body wouldnt be so bad.

The part that blows mi mind is why do i have do go so far away from stock parameters with such a close to stock moter. Its even a mopar cam.I fully understand every thing you said to do and can do it if thats what it takes.It will be interesting to see where the initial ends up.Thanks I will...

stock 340 455 268 cam had 670 streat avenger on wont idle sent it back still nfg. had intake machiened to match ports. fuel presh 6psi.put 650 double pump on runs fine 10 inchs vacume at low idle had budies 750 with big jets runs fine.I paid real money for that avenger id like to use it. any...
