am i going to have to cut a hole in the hood of my 69 barracuda with a 340 edelbrock air gap intake stock moter location. are their any air cleaners that would save me from doing that. if i do any recommendations for a scoop

if i was going to fix it i would make card board patterns of the used to be frame section. take careful measurements of the socket location then cut it all out. remove the torshion bar and socket. then fabricate a new (or buy)a new frame. then tack it all together in place with the torsion bar...

i replaced the studs on mine and they came out good. i dismantled them using a dremel to grind of the rivets. the studs knock right out after its dismantlement. i replaced them with bevel headed machine screws. i welded the screw heads in place with a mig welder.

i restored mine (67 cuda) the first thing you have to do is grind or drill all the ribits so you can dismantle the grill to get at the back side. don't forget those are aluminum not stainless steel. if you sand or grind on them it could be catastopic. do not pay any attention...

i had one bent at a fab shop. put the holes in myself. heavier metal it came out better and stronger than stock.(no shipping)

i agree with risjea but you still need to etch it before you put paint on it for the rust is still in the poors even if you cant see it.

their are lots of rust killers on the market. your automotive paint store would have one. they have phosphoric acid in them to kill the rust.

think about roticary check my posts their are lots of pitchers. they are worth their weight in gold.

a lot of the work restoring a car is unskiled hard labor such as removeing paint and cleaning the under side. you can save a lot of money doing that stuff yourself.

look on top of the inner fender where it meets the cow. it would also be pushed in their. if it is thats more proof of frame damadge.

I had the same exact problem on a car i bought.Didnt know it when i bought it. I fixed it myself and it came out perfect. I made my own gadjet and puled it with a cumalong. so it can be done with good rezalts.If you want i can post some pitchers of the job if you want to try it yourself.

a steam trap works great for automaticly draining the water from a tank on an as needed bases without any wires

a wire brush on a 4 inch high speed grinder is a very credible metal cleaner along with some heat and a putty knife for tar and maybe a small sand blaster for bad spots can do a good job. its a lot of work and time but cheap and it works.

the bigger the sand blaster the more damage you can do

I have repops on my 67 conv. right side was ok . left side the line near the top didnt line up with the one on the door. didnt catch it till it was to late.Anyway if you get them try to pay attention to the details before its to late like i didnt. you can deal with the **** its just work. good luck.

yes I rebuilt mine.I thought it was a piece of garbage but it looks like new now. first grind all the rivets and dismantle the grill removeing the steel brackets that the studs were in (i sand blasted the steel parts)nock out the old studs. Then get machine screws with counter sunk bevel heads...
