    NHRA's new Jr. Street class

    That's a cool program! :)

    building 8 3/4 489 section

I think he's just talking about building another center section, not a whole new axle. For a car that's only going 12's, all those billet parts are probably way overkill. I would still consider running a spool on the street if your tires are tall. (28"+) The best way to pick gears is to use a...

    PVC

I think most guys running a setup like that just run the header evacuator dealies to the valve covers. Don't see many normal PCV setups on big power cars.

Anyone have experience with E85 vs Gas?

I don't know that you'll see an ET/MPH difference unless you push the tune a little harder to take advantage of the fuel...you're gonna have to flow a LOT more e85 than pump 93 too, so keep that in mind when building a fuel delivery system.

    Before 540 stroker 1st start

There's no special break-in procedure for roller cams. The only thing to break in on a roller motor is the rings, and from what I understand, you want to get a load on the motor as soon as possible to set the rings right.

    Fuel pump position ???

Here's the placement of mine. :)

    Somebody here needs this....

Wow, very cool! Check out that door bar placement though! Can't imagine that passing a chassis inspection today.

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

This is what I keep telling people! If the Ford guys can do it with around 300ci, so can we! :)

    Fuel pump position ???

They're hard beat for the price. A 600hp fuel pump for $100? Sign me up! :)

    Fuel pump position ???

I've had both those pumps, and I'll tell you the inline style Walbro is SO much quieter! It will support lots of power on a carb'd setup too. Plus it tucks next to the frame rail in back really nice. :)

    First time at track. Advice?

OP, cool to see you had a good time at the track! Glad the car performed at/above your/others expectations! :) I agree with a few of the other guys who said get some gear in that car if you can!

    Routing Positive Battery Cable

I used some wire off one of those old gas powered jumper generators they used to use at the airport. I routed it across the trunk, though the floor where the gas tank used to be, then down the inner side of the left frame rail. Seems to work ok.

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

That could be. I can't easily shim it with the spool mounts though, so grinder it is. Thanks! The boy's only 2 now, that thread has a lot of dead time in it. (apartment living with no garage) Now that I have my own space, things are actually getting done. :)

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

Well, the quickest person to chime in on the several forums I'm asking on has gone 11.70's with a Magnum motor. That's well within reach. :) There's no nitrous guys out there whacking a stock 318 with a 150 shot?

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

Thanks! I do have a build thread over on the now nearly defunct turbo forums: 73 Dart-318/MPT70 The Magnum manifolds seem to fit well, but they will definitely not fit with power steering. They are hella close to my steering shaft too, I'm gonna have to grind on 'em a little as it is.

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

Well, I will have right around $5k tied up in the entire car. The car itself, motor, trans, converter, axles, disc brakes, turbo, fuel system...it doesn't necessarily take money to go fast, especially with a stock bottom end. I could probably throw some heads at it and make way more power, but...

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

Hey, I'm OK with that attitude! Just makes the core motors cheaper! Try finding a core 360 for less than $100 anymore. I've got a couple spare 318's that hardly cost me anything. And it makes it that much more fun when you put a 340/360/BB loudmouth in his place. :D

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

They can definitely do some damage with power adders, that's for sure. I think a 318 with decent ported iron heads and a plate kit would make for a fun street race money maker. :)

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

That's pretty cool! And people say 318's can't perform. :) Not sure I follow you...is there a late model Charger cop car running around with a stock bottom ended 318 in it?

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

I have not yet. I'm just finishing up the last details to get it back on the road. My goal is 10.80's out of a fair weather driver.

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

I know of a turbo car going deep 10's, maybe 9's by now, but he's got an aftermarket forged rotating assembly in it. I'm gonna try and claim the "quickest sbe 318" title with my raggedy ole 318 Dart :) Here's my combo: '73 Swinger, hopefully around the 3000-3100lbs mark '70's 318, std bore...

    Quickest SBE 318 car?

What's the quickest stock bottom ended 318 car that you guys are aware of? I mean stock block, stock deck height, stock bore, stock rods, and stock pistons.
