    tach. mounting solution

thats one of the reasons why a got a bigger tach, because I was moving it away from me a little towards the center of the car, and I wanted a shift light. Oh, and I plan on racing this car so, it is a bit of a race car...LOL! I mounted slicks, and skinnys up front, on my centerlines saturday, so...

    tach. mounting solution

Speedracer, do you find the piller mounting of your tach blocking your vision much?? I thought about doing the same as you, but I thought my wife would hate driving my car ( she drives it to car shows and cruise nites for me when I drive the superbird) with it mounted there, blocking her vision.

    tach. mounting solution

no, it's well out of the way of everything...even the radio knobs. I'm thinking about putting the wiring on a 4 pin plug and then be able to remove it easily if I don't want it in there for car shows....

    tach. mounting solution

Ok, I got a new 5" monster tach with shift light and obviously it is to large to mount on the steering column, but I hate when I see guys hack up dash pads, and drill holes in top of the dash area, so here is what I came up with. I fabbed this up yesterday, and mounted my tach. The wires run...

    72 Duster - Carpet Recommendations

ACC are the most widely used carpet sets, and they usally fit very well. Most places like Legendary interiors and classic industries, Years one, etc., get them from ACC. I just put a new set in my 4 speed duster and they fit perfect, and I'm very happy with them.

    conversion shifter plate

How about just carefully drill out the spot welds, or are they fully welded?

    conversion shifter plate

I just finished installing my automatic trans, after removing my 4 speed to have some fun at the track for a while, and being a non-console car, I was trying to come up with a way not to hack up my brand new carpet and put any more holes in my floor boards for my B&M pro stick, so here's what I...

    abody bucket seats

there different. I'm not saying you could not use them with some modifications, like drilling new holes, and making spacers to level the seats, but most folks don't want to start drilling more holes in thier floor pans, etc.

Does anybody repop these steering wheels?

I belive that steering wheel was used on B bodies as well.....as I think I have that exact steering wheel kicking around my parts stash some place, but mine has a roadrunner medallion in the center, I want to say it was off a 71 roadrunner, I parted out many years ago, if I'm not mis-taken.

Why is my dusters glove compartment full of water?

nobodys saying the dams don't rot out, ( I'v replaced bunches of them myself in my shop over the last 38 years) I just highly dought the water he's getting inside his glovebox is from the cowl dam, as it is to far forward of the glovebox. Like I said, the best way to find the problem is to...

Why is my dusters glove compartment full of water?

I'm guessing the windsheild gasket or the area behind the windsheild is rotted) or maybe a wiper pivot seal is bad. The water dam in the cowl ( as suggested) is not over the glove box, and when they do rot out they leak water into the heater box, sense thats what is below it. I would remove the...

    seat belts

Ok, so I went and found this product ( RIT) at our local Rite-aid drug store. Sense it's snowing out today and I'm bored silly, I think I'll give this stuff a try, later and see out it works on an old seat belt. Anybody else ever use this stuff? Any tips?..Ya I know, use rubber gloves. LOL!

    Original 71 Duster Seats?

Well the cover's are not 71'. they look like somebody slipped some cover's over some bucket seats, but I can't see enough of the hinges to tell if there correct 71' seat frames or the later style.

Thanks "moparaddiction", I will look for it at our local walmart and give it a try on some extra old seat belts, and see how it works, before I do the set in the car.

Legendary is generally very nice stuff, but I'v used PUI covers as well, and I think there every bit as good as Legendary. Legendary does not stand behind their product very well though..ask me how I know !
