    Fuel Tank question

Do the sending units work as good as the stock sending units as far as reading correctly with a stock gauge? Are you a dealer for tanks inc? The reason I ask is I'm on my second tank using my stock sending unit and fighting to get the ring to seal correctly on the tank. Looking at the FI tank I...

fuel sending unit problem/leaking around the seal ring

to give an update I went ahead and tried putting the OEM one back in but it wouldn't stay in the tabs on the tank it wanted to pop out of one of the tabs on the tank so, I bent the ears on the bigger ring just enough so it would lock into the tank. It seams to fit tight but haven't put gas in it...

fuel sending unit problem/leaking around the seal ring

what kind of a flat bar are you talking about it would have to be something that is pretty stout and not bend and squared off so it would bite into those ears. The ring that I have been using has stopped the leak because it is thicker than the stock one but, it is too thick to click into the...

what is normal working pressure for a mechanical fuel pump?

AJ I have decided that you are correct with this being fuzzy logic I have looked into this further by pulling the filler tube out of the tank and decided that the tank needs to be dropped and drained because of flakes of stuff in the tank. which I'm sure is clogging up the sock inside the tank...

    Carb or efi

I have to put my two cents into this thread I did try a TBI system it works great as long as you use your car as a everyday driver because, the way it was set up was the more you drive the more the computer learns your motor. The other thing you need to consider is unless you understand computer...

    3/8 fuel line problems?

Bump Anyone have any secrets on how to install there 3/8 fuel main without mangling the thing up? I'm sure one of the main thing is to get the car as far of the ground as you can if you don't have a lift so you have enough room to fish it through. Than remove the right rear tire for easier...

what is normal working pressure for a mechanical fuel pump?

I hate to sound stupid but I did find out by mistake that it is a good idea before you make the connection from your fuel main is to make sure that gas is running out like a siphon so that you know all the air is out of the line. The mechanical pump works much better when the fuel line has all...

what is normal working pressure for a mechanical fuel pump?

it doesn't matter which RPM when it is cold and warming up it sits right at about 7 than as soon as it warms up it is running at 5 to 5-1/2 I would like to see it stay right at 6-1/2 but I have tried two different mechanical pumps and they both do the same thing. I have the original mechanical...

what is normal working pressure for a mechanical fuel pump?

Hey all just wondered if it is normal for a carter mechanical fuel pump to drop down to 5-1/2 pounds pressure when it gets warm? When I first start the motor it runs at about 7 pounds and after it warms up it drops down to 5 to 5-1/2 to 6 it kind of bounces back and fourth around those pressures...

    3/8 fuel line problems?

Gerald When I installed my 3/8 line from The Right Stuff the bends around the frame rail like you said needed some tweaking but the measurement from the frame rail to the spout of the sending unit was off about a 1/2" didn't notice it till I went to install the short piece of hose. I have a question to throw out there for everyone's opinion I bought and installed a 3/8 fuel line from the" Right Stuff "it did not fit very well on a 67 Barracuda notchback. Have any of you guys installed any of the fuel injected system carbs?

No I mean the kind that you can buy from Summit or Jegs that you just buy the kit and all your injecters are in the carb and you have to install a inline pump and a sensor in the exhaust cost about 2,100.00 like i said pricey.

What is considered a good air fuel ratio at cursing speeds?

Hey all I have a 408 stroker in my car and just installed a FAST air fuel ratio guage and have been working on jetting the carburetor and right now at idle I'm reading 14.6 and when I'm cruising down the highway it is reading about 13 to 13.6. what size jets to use on 750 quick fuel for a 408 stroker

what size jets to use on 750 quick fuel for a 408 stroker

My plan is for just cruising. Chenoweths did dyno the motor and it ended up putting out some big numbers but it has a hard time cruising at low steady speeds in fourth gear. it wants to chug down the road. It also has a hard time settling back down to an idle.
