get a model kit of the 69 gts on ebay and chop it. this will save you a ton of money and you can do whatever you need to a kit to see what it looks like. cost $9.00

i saw chip foose do this with a hole saw. he traced a pattern from the hood scoop and then set it on the car and secured it to the hood. he then just drilled the holes. He went pretty slow

i used a map gas torch and it was fine. just dont stay in one place too long and use a tool to scrape the lead. go back and forth over the whole seam just until it melts. take you roof rail seals off. by the way if you are interested....i have a post on the whole job...roof replacement and all...
