To quote Kermit the Frog, "It ain't easy being green". Don't cuss the PO too hard, he came up with the air cleaner that had the round inlet you hooked your magnificent contraption to...

    filler neck and spectra tank

I would loosen the tank straps a bit and see if I could get things straightened out. When everything is lining up to suit you, stick a floor jack with a block of wood under the tank and put just enough pressure on the tank to hold it in place. Then tighten the straps, release the jack, and see...

Ran 100 octane for the first time. Wow

Reading this brings a tear to my eye. Takes me back to the days when I could pull into a Sunoco station and dial up 110 octane Sunoco 260 at the pump for less than 45 cents a gallon... We've given up a lot in the name of corporate greed and big government...

    Which gas tank?

'71 was when the Feds mandated evaporative emissions canisters or EEC! Instead of venting the tank to the outside the vapors were "stored" in a charcoal canister which sent them to the carb every time you let off the throttle and manifold vacuum increased. Over time the canisters accumulated...

    fuel sender question

There is a ground strap that bridges the short piece of rubber hose between the sender and the fuel line. If it is not there the gauge will be weird if it works at all. It's just a short piece of flat metal that snaps on the lines and carries current around the hose.

Fuel pump blues (i give up).

Why not go back to what you had that supplied the engine and made you happy? Then you can add more pumps and headaches when you get around to putting in the nitrous. In my opinion a nitrous system should have it's own separate fuel system anyway.

    Identify this intake system?

www.pentastarparts.com.au has the complete setup for the slant if you want it. Tad pricey but you can buy a bit at a time as you can afford it.

    Junkyard treasure 360 efi?

Don't forget the Magnum heads so the intake will bolt up, and you will need a set of Jeep lifters and Mopar Performance pushrods for the Magnum head to LA block swap. The throttle cable and kickdown linkage would be a good idea and you will need the EFI fuel pump and a return line from the...

    carberator rebuild kit

If you're talking about the stock 2 barrel, NAPA can fix you up for around $25.

NON-EGR INTAKE MANIFOLD on EGR ENGINE

Buy it. The only difference is the non EGR manifold is not machined for an EGR valve. Both manifolds have the crossover passage for intake heat so you will use the same intake gaskets for either manifold.

    Fuel spilling

How about a '75-'76 filler tube that has the unleaded gas flapper in it? Not a real problem anymore since all the pumps have unleaded nozzles.

64 1 barrel carter rebuld kit

The only thing I could find for a '64 was a reman carb at NAPA for $209. Their part number is HOL641206 and there is a $12 core charge. They also have a listing for a '66 Carter rebuild kit that should work for you that is $21.49. NAPA part number CRB25500. They also have the float. You can use...

    Gas Tank Quiz

Those are for the evaporative emissions canister that sounds to be long gone by now. The canister mounted above the wheel well behind the filler tube. Maybe someone with a '71 can post a pic.

    Fuel Fluke

Looks to me like your fuel line may be picking up too much extra heat at the cowl where it looks to be close to your headers. Since I don't see it, I am going to assume the electric pump is mounted near the tank. Running both pumps shouldn't cause the problem you are describing since the carb...

I need pictures of a 65 225 throttle hook up

I can get you pictures of a '66 that uses the rod linkage. Mine was rigged when I bought it (piece of rubber fuel line and baling wire) but I found the right parts and put it back to stock. The real trick was finding the bushing that snaps in the square hole on the throttle shaft and accepts the...

    Gas tank repair

Try a gallon of water with a couple of good squirts of Dawn dish washing soap after hosing the tank out good with water. Sending unit ground strap

It's really pretty simple. there is a short piece of rubber fuel line that connects between the fuel sender and the main fuel line running to the front. One end of the strap snaps over the metal fuel line coming out of the sender and the other end snaps over the main fuel line. The purpose of...

    Gas Cap Mod

Did a little mod on my gas cap that just saved my bacon. By now you know how hard it is to find a replacement gas cap. A while back I decided to do something that may save a fruitless search. Took the bar off my gas cap and drilled 4, 3/8" holes in the back side of the bar. Epoxied rare earth...

    What cfm are they?

I'm using two Carter/Weber progressive two barrels that are rated at 175 CFM each on a basically stock slant. Got everything I needed (new carbs, linkage, air cleaners, adapters) from stoveboltengines.com for around $300. Runs a lot better and gets better mileage than the stock one barrel. I'm a...

    fuel injection

Thanks for the link. They even have a kit that will work on slants. Too cool for words. Not a bad price for a complete kit, but I'll still need to win the lottery to afford one.

    Can't fill up

Have this same problem with my '66 Valiant. If I put the nozzle in the filler neck normally I can only get a half tank in before gas starts running all over the place. If I put the nozzle in the filler neck upside down I can fill the tank completely. Don't know what causes this but it works for...

    1920 idle problems

Check your PCV hose at the carb end. They will split on the bottom and it looks and feels OK but leaks big time. Had this happen to me and I had no clue until I had the car on a lift and could see from underneath. Also check the slop in the throttle shaft, especially if it looks like gas has...

    Fuel gauge question

The only other thing I can think to do is make sure you have 12V at the fuel sender plug. You don't say if you measured that or not. As a general rule; if you have 12V at the plug and ground the fuel sender wire, and get zero reading on the fuel gauge, the gauge is dead. Sorry about the bad...

Continuing the Fuel Sending Unit discussion

Change the float and you should be good to go. If there is fuel trapped in the one you have, it is leaking and needs to be replaced.
