Best riding shocks for an early A-Body

Yes. Pretty happy with the Monroe shocks. Its what I was looking for. Rides nice along with the new BFG radial tires. Absorbs the pot holes pretty good here in PA. It was definitely a cheap fix. Highwaystar

I am looking all over for a chart on what our gears match up to, there are all kinds of charts for 66 and later models. Does anyone have a chart? I could not find anything in the archives. It may make a good sticky for the forum if anyone has one. I have a 3.55 gear and 26.5 tall tires. My...

What are all the new style headlight options

I'm looking to put some up to date headlights in my 65 Cuda. Can everyone post pix of what they went with? I like the look of some of them and others I think are ugly. Lastly did everyone use any conversion on the wire harness (like what crackedback gold member sells) or are there some that are...

Went with the Monroe. Got the back on this evening. One of them was shot, likely cause of all the problems. Doing the front tomorrow and ill test drive, and I'll report back in.

Best riding shocks for an early A-Body

This is a bone stock 65 Plymouth 273 2 barrel, auto car, with worn shocks. Looking for the best route to go with new shocks, and anything else I can do for a better ride. Handling I am not concerned with. This is a driver car.

Best riding shocks for an early A-Body

Well, I just sold my last B-body and I'm all in on A-bodies again. What I noticed most is the rough ride on my 65 Cuda vs. The smooth rides of B-bodies. What are some of the best shocks and Mods that you guys have done to get these cars to ride better without too extreme changes. Gas shocks vs...

Where you guys placing the ECU on 65 Cudas/A bodies?

Here is my current location, but I need to get it closer to work with the pre made harness, unless I can get him to make me a custom engine harness. I'd like to see a few more, if you guys got pics of them. Also looking for a 273 air cleaner, would trade the one I got or buy yours. Highway star

Where you guys placing the ECU on 65 Cudas/A bodies?

Hi Guys, My 65 cuda currently has its ECU spliced into the factory points engine harness, and it is a mess of cobbled up wires. I'm looking to buy a new one thru Evans wiring for $110.00. He however says the ones that he has are designed to be placed next to passenger valve cover. I have AC, so...

B-body drums on the front of a 65 Cuda?

Thats what I was thinking. I could go to disc at a later date. I am putting the larger 4.5" pattern axles in rear.

B-body drums on the front of a 65 Cuda?

Heavier, but alot less brake drag on drum brakes. Ask any old time drag racer, most preferred the drum for less drag. The newer race disc setups will have springs on the pads to pull them off the rotor to help with brake drag, but stock disc brakes will have much more brake drag than drum.

B-body drums on the front of a 65 Cuda?

Couple reasons. Price .. Picked the set up with new wheel cylinders, drums, and shoes for $200. Using the back for the conversion, so I only ha e $100 in the front. 2nd. Dr Diff., Mancini, and everyone else I checked on is out of the disc brake set-up currently. 3rd, my 70 Roadrunner stops...

B-body drums on the front of a 65 Cuda?

I picked up a complete set of 11" drums front and back from a 69 Charger with front spindles and upper control arms. Will this work on my 65 Cuda with a new dual reservoir master cylinder, and updated proportioning valve to get my 4 1/2" bolt pattern and a upgrade in my braking? Will this push...

    1966 D Code Barracuda rare?

It's got a little roll and mud in the rear wheel wells already. Thinking about going old school and radiusing the wheel well and putting 15x12 wheels on the back. What do you guys think of that? Maybe a JC Whitney after market wheel well flare to cover the tires.

    1966 D Code Barracuda rare?

My research is showing there was 2 D code options in 66. The 273 1 barrel 180 h.p, and the D code 273 4 barrel one with 235 h.p and 1 with 275 h.p. My car was built in Hamarick I know. V.I.N. is BP29D062693738. I knew about the 1966 D dart having 275 H.P. What was the deal on the barracuda's?

    1966 D Code Barracuda rare?

Just bought a Ex drag car. Been on the track since 1973. It's not cut up at all. No cage or tubs. It was green and called the Mystic Mopar on the doors. It is an original D Code with a console 4 speed and was raced at US 30 dragway back in the day, running class I imagine. All the interior is...
