Its electric bcuda452. I gave the fuel system some thought as well. My filter is clear so I can see fuel in it. What I need to do is the next time it happens just stop and look under the hood.

Thanks John. This is a fresh stock rebuild so they are new. I did think for a second that meybe it jumped timing because of the slight backfire, but it runs and idles fine otherwise. I need to see what the timing is set at again.

Not sure where as far as parts stores go. Start a tread in the parts wanted section and see if you get some hits.

The housing is bolted in behind the bumper with 7/16?(head size) screws if that helps.

I had this happen on my 68 dart. Im not sure how but somehow the push switch at the brake pedal was engaging. I might have bumped it, I dont know. I just tweaked it a little so it wasn't under pedal pressure and it was fine. Gremlins.:snakeman:

I think once you a few days from it to clear your mind some and start from the begining. You replaced quite a bit at once so you know it has something to do with the new stuff. It never fails though when you start doing something to your ride, some thing else is gonna break. Just Murphys Law...

Can you take some pics of your wires, dist/coil/resist. To make sure you are good there.

It wont hurt to try. The engine turns over but wont start, right, and you have spark at the plug. Fuel is going into the carb. spark + fuel = ignition . If it is out 180 your are sparking cylinders with no fuel in them yet. I am not saying I am 100% sure this is the problem, but I was in the...

I know it may sound stupid but it sounds like it's 180 deg off. Easy to do if you had the dist out.

He says he getting spark at the plug though. Wouldn't the resistor interfere with that? Just asking.

It sounds like you have it 180 deg off. You said you replaced the distributor. Loosen up the hold down bracket and lift up the dist. a little and turn the rotor 180 deg. and then try it.

No. You will be able to minipulate the linkage to fit it. Good luck.

Not a bad idea. I think you are supposed to pull the neg. cable first for safety reasons.
