    340 stock cam

Hit the nail on the head Rusty! While the xe274h is a great cam the noise it produces takes away the "driver factor" for me. Now the notes that were pointed out by moparlover...these are all "recommended". When I bought the cam I talked on the phone with the tech about all of this. I addresed...

    340 stock cam

There have been several discussions on the forum about the XE cams (comp fast ramp cams) being noisy. Even bowtie boys are complaining. I have no major engine failure. The engine runs fantastic. But for me the noise is too much. And yes I am referring to lifter pushrod noise. Either way thank...

    340 stock cam

Hello gang! I've got a 71' 340 I want to put a stock cam back in. It had a purple shaft, then I put an xe274h in there and just don't like it. I have less than 500 miles on the xe274h. Anyone know a good (cheap ) source for a stock cam? Thank u all!

    intake manifold

thanks now i gotta figure out why it runs like crap. I had to crank the timing up past 10 degrees to get it to start again after initial startup. (while hot). Sometimes while going down the highway it backfires through the carb as well. any suggestions from anyone?

Are the 302 heads closed chambered? I hear good things about them...I mean i'm only looking for about .5-.8 on top of that 9.2...thats why i asked about milling, any ideas rumblefish?
  28. ibleedmoparts

    knowledgable engine guys!

If i take a 68' 318 w/9.2:1 compression ratio put a #302 head on it, how much milling would be required to hit 10:1? maybe a dumb question but you guys know more than me about that stuff, you guys are the best and true life savers. Floyd

I emailed the boys at Keith Black and told them what i was after for the 400. They suggested a good piston that shoud get about 10:1. But did warn about pinging w/ an open chamber head.
