Sounds like you need to re-adjust the valves to me also

Their website says they are made in USA. I had a set that I sold, they were descent looking heads, never ran them though. If you are going for a stock look, they look great painted (just like factory). They also look great unpainted. I have read that for race application you should do a valve job.

I would also go for a 383, put the money in a set of 440source.com aluminum heads and a new cam.

I have about $5200 into my 500 cu in big block (400 based) including machining, and I bought used parts where I could. I still have about another $500 to go to get the rest of the parts for the engine. I went with a 9.6:1 compression with 440 source aluminum heads. I still need to do everything...

Nice Valiant, I have been following the build on BBD. I bought a set of Stainless steel block hugger shorty headers that are center dump that I am going to try for my BB transformation.

I am also interested in the fitment issue. I am putting a 500cu in BB (400 block) in my 72 Dart when it gets back from machine shop.
