What cars did you pass on buying in the 60s/70s because they cost too much

I was 16 in 1987. So badly wanted a '71 cuda. Found a grand coupe in nice shape for 3,500. Thought that was insane money for a 318 car.

    340 gas mileage

It is a 1406 edelbrock carb. Out of the box basically. Pistons are the factory ones, it was pretty low mileage engine I just honed and put new rings and bearings, no machining on block. The heads are '68 x. Hardened seats and new exhaust valves. 68 340 exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust. Cam...

    340 gas mileage

I have a 71 dart that I over hauled a 68 340, built it as close to stock as possible, electronic hei distributor, edelbrock carb. The cam was a summit, other than that put new rings and bearings had the heads done. Runs good. 727 8 3/4 with 2:76(?). I'm not a super tuner but the car runs well...

Are prices way down on classic muscle right now?

I have witnessed the value of muscle cars over the years fluctuating from the mid-eighties when great cars where abundant and could be had for extremely reasonable prices. They were little more than discarded used cars. My first car was a 69 Charger I bought in nice shape for $1300.00. Cudas and...

    do-it your self bed liner

I have tried a few, and out of the ones I've tried u-pol Raptor, 3m makes a kit and both are a 2 part catalyzed, and reasonably durable, the roll-on or rattle can is very light duty, but none (that I know) of the do-it-yourself kits are as durable as true Rhino or line-x. My every day work...

How many miles do you put on you A-body?

Very interesting I have had my Duster for 23 years never been a daily driver or a show car but more of a junk yard dog/low buck street car. It probably has less than 5000 miles on it in all them years, most in the first 5 years. It was never built with the intentions of what I would consider a...
