    Retro sound radio

I have the basic model (AM/FM radio with an aux input). It was a fairly easy install since everything is adjustable. It took some playing around with it to get it right, such as not having the knobs stick out too far. The knob shafts are sensitive so do not over-tighten them or else the...

    Severe overcharging from my 72

Here's what i'd do in this order: Check the battery to engine block negative cable, make sure both ends are clean and tight The voltage regular ground from the factory was crappy at best. Run a ground wire from battery- to the voltage regulator body. Scuff up the body at a mounting bolt and...

    Alternator wires... melted?

First, fix broken wires Second, look at an engine wiring diagram and make sure it's hooked up correctly. If it was hooked up correctly just replace the alternator as well as voltage regulator to error on the side of caution. Both are inexpensive. Make sure your voltage regulator has a good...

revisit the fuel gauge and sending unit issue

Then I would guess it's issue #5 that I listed in post #10. Specifically the float arm going through full range of motion. The only way to check that is to pull the tank, install the sender, and check the arm range of motion via the filler neck hole.

revisit the fuel gauge and sending unit issue

To find an OEM one post in the parts wanted section on this forum. Also check ebay (that's where I got mine). For ebay searches you can look up some of the OEM part numbers. Search this forum for "OEM sending unit" and you will find some part numbers. Call these 4 places that do rebuilds and...

revisit the fuel gauge and sending unit issue

So here's the deal, theres only a few things that can be wrong in your case. Let me list them out. 1. Sending unit ground. You said you have 2 ground points on the sending unit, that should be enough. I've seen several Mopar sending units work without the ground strap present. I doubt that's the...

revisit the fuel gauge and sending unit issue

You've been through multiple aftermarket fuel sending units all with the same problem? Since you've run a dedicated wire with no change I'd check the integrity of the ground to the sending unit. If that doesn't fix it i'd look at the gauge itself.

When did your ignition module fail?

Not to bash on MP electronic ignition because the OEM boxes are great, but this is why I switched to HEI. I got sick of my aftermarket boxes failing. Had a couple of ballast resistors fail too. OEM boxes are too hard to find so I gave up and went HEI. Best to steer clear of FBO for anything...

When did your ignition module fail?

I ran my HEI module for 8 years, 3 of which I was daily commuting. Then when I swapped from a slant6 to a 360 somewhere along the way I lost that module (no idea how). I put a new one on and bought a spare on Amazon to keep in the glovebox since they're cheap. I'm glad I did. That new HEI module...
