A body with headman shortie headers boiling power steering?

Are you sure its circulating? I had an issue like yours and when I pulled off the return line I wasn't getting any fluid out. The nipple on the return side of your power steering gearbox has a ball and spring assembly inside of it and is it gets stuck/seized the fluid doesn't flow properly.

Should the distributor be plumbed straight to a vacuum source or go thru a thermal vacuum switch? Trying to get my car road ready and I am working the last few bugs out of it.

    360 Fit

Check your local craigslist or sale ads. Sometimes you can find a wrecked but running truck with a 5.9 magnum. Wished I would have went that route. Currently have two early 70-s 360 in my darts. Just my 2 cents.

    Head installation question

when installing a set of heads is it better to install it with the rocker assembly off then install push rods and rocker assembly? Have a buddy of mine that just installs the head with rockets all ready installed all at once. Looking for opinions on the best method. I don't want to screw it up...

302 heads-Is it worth putting them on a stock 318

A magnum swap is a long term option. Right now the car will only be a driver no track time. Current set up will be a stock intervals 318/904 with a shift kit. Excel rock intake with a edelbrock 4 barrel carb. Will have headers since I have those laying around already. 3.73 geared 8.8 rear end.

302 heads-Is it worth putting them on a stock 318

thanks for the comments/feedback. I am just contemplating whether I should invest a little bit of money into the 318 and drive it for a while or just go ahead with a 5.9 magnum swap

302 heads-Is it worth putting them on a stock 318

I have a little 318 that is totally stock and I have an opportunity to purchase a set of 302 swirl port heads for a reasonable price. Is it worth installing them on a totally stock 318 for a slight compression bump and flow? Currently it has a set of late 70's heads.

Thin head gaskets, intake bolt up question

Ok. Thanks for the feedback. After a few more test fits at the crack of dawn this morning I got it to work. Didn't realize that a piece of valve cover gasket RTV was rolling in the way when I would install the intake. The motor was a running engine when I got it and whom ever rebuilt it at some...

Thin head gaskets, intake bolt up question

When running the Mr Gasket thin head gaskets is it common for the intake manifold bolt holes not to line up perfect.? If so what are people using for intake manifold gaskets?

What to use on manifold bolts to prevent seizing?

Jet lube 550 anti seize. Good to 2400* F. I work in a industrial setting with high heat and pressure. I have seen this stuff applied to studs and 5 years later they are easy to break apart. A little bit goes a long way.

Plug of metal pushed out of the cylinder wall by a bolt

It's a 360 and yes it's through the water jacket. I am going to chance it and just sleeve it. I have a lot already invested into and hate to throw it away for scrap.

Plug of metal pushed out of the cylinder wall by a bolt

I will be tearing it down hopefully next week and take it to the machine shop for a sleeve on the #1 cylinder. I spoke with the machine shop that has done other work for me and he is going to cost me $150.

Plug of metal pushed out of the cylinder wall by a bolt

Rusty Rat Rod, didn't have a camera on me or my phone. Dragin Mopars, yep it's the second one up on the drivers side. Didn't think the cooling Jacket would be that low but thinking about it more It would make since for it to. Didn't do a water test but since the motor is at my brothers house...

Plug of metal pushed out of the cylinder wall by a bolt

Had a lot of help off this site assembling my first Mopar small block. Had a friend helping me yesterday and as he was bolting on the timing chain cover he accidentally inserted a bolt that was too long in the bottom right portion of the timing chain cover. I heard a tink noise as I heard metal...

    Dodge 360 camshaft keystock

Well I posted a month or two ago about the problem I had with my keystock on my camshaft not being long enough to catch the fuel pump eccentric. Well I failed to mention I have a double row timing chain. I looked in a book at the local library about hot rodding a small block mopar and I saw in a...

Camshaft and eccentric ring 1 or 2 pieces of key stock

One your camshaft is the notch for the key stock cut/notched all the way to the end where the eccentric bolts on? My timing sprocket sits flush on the end of the camshaft and the key stock can't hardly be seen. Is it possible that its not made for mechanical fuel pump? It's a lunati 60401.

Camshaft and eccentric ring 1 or 2 pieces of key stock

Sleepyhead 416 just a picture would help. I bought one locally a few weeks back but once you insert it into the camshaft and slide the timing sprocket/gear on there is no part of the key showing past the sprocket/gear. Should the recess that is cut for the key on the camshaft be past the end of...

Camshaft and eccentric ring 1 or 2 pieces of key stock

I spent 4 hours looking locally and everything I found is a typical half moon. None of them will reach past the end of the camshaft to fit in the eccentric ring. I went to Orielly, Autozone, Advance, car quest, and 2 small hardware stores. All the pics I have seen on the Internet show a typical...

Camshaft and eccentric ring 1 or 2 pieces of key stock

I posted something earlier but I think i asked the question wrong.
