I used a wire wheel to remove mine then primed with epoxy primer. I used the 3M paintable seam sealer and used diesel fuel in a small cup to dip my finger in and wiped the seam sealer smooth like you would do for caulk. Once dried I cleaned the residual diesel off prior to painting.

Did you go with the 2 stage or Tri stage? I was lurking around their site today and saw the copper pearl as well. I currently have a 72 dart swinger that is lime green with a gold pearl (tri stage) and it really pops in the sun but it is a little more common now to see lime green paint on cars.

Have you been satisfied with the urekem? I have used SPI clear and it does flow real well even for amateurs. I am getting ready to order my epoxy primer from SPI. Still debating between orange and green. Did the pearl mix and flow out well in the orange?

Landau vinyl top glue. This is what is used professionally. When I compared a gallon can of it shipped versus the can's of the 3M I chose the gallon can of Landau vinyl top glue and sprayed it with a Harbor Freight gravity fed spray gun.

I contemplated on my 72 Dart for a while (originally vinyl top). I put the vinyl top back on it and haven't regretted it one bit.

I used Durablock with mine. I used the adhesive backed paper to 320 grit. Then wet sanded at 400 then 600. Then 3 stage paint base,pearl, clear. No problem using the Durablock with non adhesive backed sandpaper as long as you have enough to wrap around the block so you can grip it to the block.

I had my doors hung and adjusted but once I put my new seals on I found out my drivers door vent window needs to be adjusted. The top of the vent window needs to tip in towards the door glass. Trying to take apart/loosen the assembly just enough to move it a little.

Thanks for the replies. I have some 3M glass glazing/sealant as well as some urethane glass sealant/adhesive. I hope to try the rear glass in the next few weeks. I know the front glass is gasket on the car then work the glass in.

Is it easier to put the seal on the glass and then rope it in place or put the seal on the car and then slowly work the glass into the seal with a plastic tool?
