you want you regulator as close to the carb as possible, other than that I'm not sure why the pumps drop the way they do, I had one in another duster a few years ago, and it was rock solid, good luck, I'm sure someone that know's more than I do will chime in.

check the little tin ground strap, that attaches to the fuel line, mine was rusted and my gauge didn't work, I put a hose clamp on where the clip was rusted, and mine works now. you replied while I was typing, I have a spare cluster, pay shipping and it's yours.

now that I have one, and will be using it for awhile, I'm going to learn how to dial it in, that way when I get another thermoquad, I'll have a spare carb.

thanks, you know what port to plug the vacuum advance in? I have it on the drivers side front, not sure if it's right or not tho.

it's the factory carb off his 360, now I need to learn how to tune the damn thing, as it worked good on his truck, but seems pig rich on my motor, what;s the base setting for the air/fuel mix? can you do them like a thermoquad, 3 turns out? thank's for the replys. Mark

I let my brother use my thermoquad, while I was rebuilding my engine, he hit a cow, tore the hell out of his truck and my carb:angry7: any way he has a new- different 86 ram, 360, quadrajet nad he just bought a 60,000 mile 360 engine and trans, so he's giving me his carb, 2 questions, 1 will it...

I like to hear "what thell is that thing?" when I open the hood. LOL Yep, the ford and chevy boys talk about my carb all the time, they can't see how something that big can work on a small block, I just pat them on the back and say Mopar boys Mopar.

you would think,( or I would any way) that it would only have to meet the standards of the year of the car, ie. the old diesels are exempt from the new standards, so if they want to smog check a 1909 model it shouldn't have to meet 2010 standards, as if it could any way. just my 2 cents.

well it seems to like a hair over 3 turns, idles 800 rpm, and holds a steady 9 on the vacuum gauge, I don't know the cam size, but I know it has a lot of over lap, now what can I do about the fumes? I'm talking burn your eyes and make you cry fumes, before I got the carb set, I couldn't get it...

thank you, I was thinking 3 and 1/2 turns out, after sleeping on it, but still wasn't sure.

on a thermoquad, it's been 20 years since I had to adjust one, and I can't remember how many turns to set the base mixture, and the fsm doesn't say or I'm over looking it, thanks in advance. Mark
