2nd try? On the cheap friendly comp?

Hahaha no kidding! That would be awesome! I am going to double check in my basement, and my brothers house. I thought I still had a set of heads from my 85' 360, but it's been a while since I did an inventory lol.

2nd try? On the cheap friendly comp?

I'm in for the *extra expense* category! Unless I find a set of heads that don't need anything other than cleaned up lol. I'll start a thread as soon as I can, I guess also to show what you can accomplish by just doing research and careful shopping, etc. I know it won't be an optimum combo, but...

2nd try? On the cheap friendly comp?

This is a great idea! But...I dunno if I can do it. I might follow the" cheap as you possibly can" concept, but I don't have any stock heads I haven't ported at least a little, stuff like that. So, it might kinda kick me out of the competition, since stuff like W2 heads are a little unfair (I am...

2nd try? On the cheap friendly comp?

My first post in a while...I'm in! I'm all about budget. I still have my Dart Sport, and it's gonna look ratty. 8.25 gears are pretty easy to come by...got a great 904...360 shortblocks a plenty...used mp purple cam/timing set/etc. Oh, and Rob, remember how much I didn't pay for those econo...

    Match Race 1972 ~ 'Road Runner/GTX 440' vs. 'Buick GS 455'

One of the many reasons I have thought about giving up my mopars (for now) and grabbing my dads 72' Buick that has been sitting since 94...and he has a std 1972 455 sitting with it. Buicks are the ones that got me into cars, and that one in particular.

    Match Race 1972 ~ 'Road Runner/GTX 440' vs. 'Buick GS 455'

My first post in a loooong time, and here I am backing the wrong company! I grew up around Buicks, even the 72' Skylark Custom with the 350 4bbl that was my parents daily until 94' was suprisingly quick. Honestly, I think it boils down to tuning and the driver. I'm going with the Buick...

    67-69 Valiant 4dr to 2dr conversion

As long as you have pretty good welding/fab skills, and you realize it won't be nearly as valuable as a factory-made 2dr, I'd say its doable. I am pretty tired so my thinking may be somewhat clouded, but, in my head lol, you could use the 2dr doors, jambs, door pillar, etc, and incorporate that...

Moparts.Com 'Like going to the Dentist for Root Canal.'

I go there to check out the classifieds. I have got alot of good deals there! Got ripped off once with a set of roller rockers, thankfully paypal took care of it. I don't look at the other stuff unless I am researching threads to learn about a person I may be buying parts from.

Attn Moroso Valve Cover Owners!! 911 -- Please Read!

I finally got a chance to look this thread, and boy am I disappointed in the response by Rick Moroso. Kinda wish I would have ordered a different type of epoxy the other day. All you did was point out a flaw that could potentially cause big problems, and keep alot of people from destroying...

    Going about it all wrong?

LMAO I'm not sure what your Demon looks like, but the thought of someone dropping what they are doing and just spraying a car had me laughing really hard!

    Mopar Performance book=AWESOME

Lmao well, here is a thanks from someone that agreed with you! I can't wait to see what the difference is when you go by the book. I know the SS springs I had on my old Dart were gonna be stiff, but it probably wasn't helping that I used a breaker bar to tighten them! (I was 18, and I didn't...

    Mopar Performance book=AWESOME

Nice! I think I am going to try to get all of them. Lucky! It is a great book! Thanks for the compliment! I am a sucker for books anyway, I love to read. I used to (before kids lol) sit down and read a 1000 page book in 2 days. I never thought the MP Chassis book was as thick as it is...

    Mopar Performance book=AWESOME

I just bought a new, still plastic wrapped, MP Chassis manual on ebay, for a grand total of $7 and some change. Man there is alot of cool reading! I had no idea it had that much info. There are a few more of them from the same seller, but he bumped the price from $5 to $10. The seller is...

    Is ths guy for real??????

I think the block, crank, and heads were steel shot blasted, thats why they look that color. Same thing we did to alot of the bigger locomotive parts at work.

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

I actually read that as Yoda, and laughed out loud. I am easily amused lol. What is this "patience" you speak of? Thanks, I'm not too worried about it, but she is, so I guess I will just keep doing what I'm doing and see what happens.

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

I am determined to have a big block 1968 Dart now. Well, later. Just took my fiance, Leslie, some lunch while she is at work, and she showed me some papers saying her pays will be garnished for 2 1/2 months for a debt that she incurred 5 years ago while she was married. Just in time for...

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

Thanks! I am really torn on this one. I think my game plan will be as follows: -continue doing what I am doing, and finish putting the magnum together. -do the welding on the car, etc and get it together. -drop the magnum in, and get the car driveable. Its alot easier to sell an engine...

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

Lol no problem! I like reading, its not a hijack, its an addition! Thats always been my way of thinking, too. Not many mopar guys in my town (me, my brother, my dad, and a buddy Ron. My brother and I get called "the dodge boys" lol). But I have done sooo many la builds, I guess I just...

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

I think I want it to be just a street bruiser, mid 12s or so would be fun. I know I could do it easy with a 360 (not my magnum, at least not the way it is) but I think a 440 would give me a warm, fuzzy feeling when I open the hood lol. That being said, I do have the 422 shortblock (small...

As for headers, I wouldn't be afraid to use the fenderwells, whatever would be cheapest. I have a couple ideas on how to reinforce the inner fender.

That is sweet! Aaahhh! This isn't helping! lol. Well, it is, but it may leave me in the dog house for quite some time... 66340sedan, you are the only one who actually came out and said small block. Rani kinda hinted at it. Even my fiance said big block, which about made me fall down.

Decision making was never my strong point...HELP lol

I hate to admit, I did some research on it lol. You can do it, but it requires come computer work, a different transfer case, etc. Worst thing about the V8s in thoseis there is NO room for headers, it has tubular manifolds and it is the worst design I have ever seen. My pass side is cracked...

He said I can stop out anytime and hear it, he won't take it out until he has the cash in hand. I would be getting it complete, which is nice, and he is maybe 5 minutes away. I didn't think of that, with the exhaust pipe. Alot of rod guys do that because of limited space. Right now...

Mine is a 1997 Eddie Bauer, 87K miles, awd, and believe it or not, a factory 5.0! Black with tan leather, its super comfy, but no third row. I stuck flowmasters on it already lol, I couldnt resist. It gets about 21mpg on the highway, 14.5 or so in the city. Its got a few little bugs to fix...
