That looks like a 383/440 balancer,and is what I'm putting on my 528 hemi.

I ran 8.76 in the 1/8th with a boner stock la 360(70 340 intake with old 780 holley)in my duster.3.91 gears and a cheap 10" converter..and that was with a 727. Mopar built the 360 and it had fairly low miles,but wasn't fresh at all.

I put a tag on mine and drive it on nice days.

I was just about to post that it could be a tight guide... then I saw how old the thread was.my black dodge truck did the same thing and that's what it was...poped one push rod out but didn't bend it. I hit the valve a few times with a soft hammer,put it all back together and it never did it...

it shouldn't have anything to do with bands...time for a freshening.you'll see burnt clutches when you pull it apart...steels will be a lil burnt.easy fix.
