    Come on guys, a 408 stroker with a 3.55 ? why bother building a bad *** stroker . I had a 408 stroker is my 70 Cuda with a 4 speed . I had a 4.10 and a 4.30 , I will admit its definately not a highway gear , but how much highway driving do you do ?

    Rear axle assembly - reccomendation?

    I dont know why everyone seems to think they need a new rear to get bigger tires under there car, there are hundreds of wheel choices in many offsets to accomplish this . The real equalizer is the wheel well , you need to determine how big of a tire the wheel well can accept.

    8 3/4 axle doesn't want to go in

    I ran into this once with a clutch type posi unit . It ended up being a broken axle spacer in the center of the diff . Make sure the roll pin in the button spacer that goes through the two cross shafts in the is not broken, if is you will not be able to push the axle in .

    Im currently running the Eaton tru trac posi unit , it does not require limited slip additive and is rated for up to 950 HP , its a little expensive but what a nice set up

    I would think the 8.25 has the same safety concern as the gm 10 and 12 bolt diffs , there main weakness and safety issue is they use C clips to hold in the axles

    There is a solid collar you can buy now that does away with the crush collar , it gets pressed on and shims get used just like 741 and 742 cases.
