not sure what a salvage Magnum block costs in your area, but it may be cheaper to just get a different motor. Machine work and the sleeve here will run around 150.00 just to sleeve it, then final bore to match the other cylinders is more. I can pick up a long-block for around 200.00 and have a...

yea that's what I was thinking, I have a V-10 in my shop and it looks similar to a 360, just missing 2 cylinders

The v-10 is a small block isn't it??

This is a question that had been asked a million times. I say if you have a 340 build it, but for the money and availability just get a 360.

Mine had some kinda adapter bolted to it to make the hot stud higher. I took it off and bolted it to the 383 with no problems.

yep, same thing. I took one off a 93 Dakota 3.9 and put it in my 69 383. 11.5:1 motor and it starts it great.

I somewhat agree that you get what you pay for. I just figured they had to meet atleast stock standards. I'll probably stay away from it, but like said, It just triggers the MSD so I thought it would be ok to run. I have a MSD now and it works great but would like to see how the procomp e-bay...

Any body using the smallblock Procomp e-bay distributor?? They sell for under 60 bucks. Just wondering how well they work. I'm not to sure how to add a link to the page but they look ok.

Scrap those pistons if you are looking to make power. Those are just some stock .040 replacements. As far as compression with those things.......I would guess maybe 8-1 if your lucky and have good heads.

Sucks that your having the oil pan problems, I bought one from Mancini at Monster Mopar last weekend. Haven't tried putting it on anything yet, hope I don't run into the same problem

Did you check the gasket under the plate that the filter screw on to?

I see, not sure. My tray goes between the where the oil pan bolts up. We have two different setups.

They look about like mine, even after you put gasket/wndagetray/gasket/pan they were too long? It's been a while since I put my engine together but your bolts look just like the ones I used

how much longer are they? May be easier/safer just to get new bolts

I have a copper tube and no problems, but just to fully elminate it do switch the guage and the tube back and forth and see what's happens

I did the Magnum swap and I love it! Change the cam, run a carb and just drive it. Good power and will last forever, You might want to pull the heads and have them checked first. They are pretty good about cracking between the valves. That's just my opinion though!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that does it, but I like to rub a little around all the passage just in case there are some imperfections in the head or intake where oil or coolant may leak out. Not sure if that helps you much, just a suggestion
