Just bought a T56 Magnum GM with the close ratio gears. (http://www.hurst-drivelines.com/?page_id=4420&id=9) I'm going to be changing out my ring and pinion also to a 4:10 (I have 3:55s now) with 26" tires. My question is, I already have a hydrualic clutch system set up for my A833, can I put a...

    Contemplating my next move...

Well I haven't gotten to the drive shaft yet. This was a /6 conversion. I know the yolk on the pig is the heavy duty one, and it's the 489 casing. What would be my best bet for driveshaft? I have a local driveline shop nearby, I'll probably take measurements and have them make it from scratch.

    Contemplating my next move...

Ya...I went ahead and chose convenience and bought an 8 3/4 with 3.55 gear ratio. It's a clutch unit that had been rebuilt by a local mopar man with a lot of knowledge on the unit. I'm pretty stoked.

    Contemplating my next move...

So I have everything set up for my project: Engine-Check (408 stroker hoping for 500hp) Tranny-Check (4 speed conversion) My next move is the rear end. Out of experience, what would my FABO fam reccomend? A new Moser? Re-doing an 8 3/4? All would need to be purchased, and it will mainly be...

need trans help! completely lost on this one.

I'm not an expert at all what-so-ever, but it sounds like the pump went out on the tranny. That explains when the fluid gets hot, it gets to thin for the tranny to pump the fluid. Just a thought.

    4-Speed Question

Do you any of you guys know if a Light duty 23 spline standard transmission is strong enough to withstand 500 hp? I believe the tranny is out of a 318 a-body.
