    If the 360 is in good condition, then maybe that is the way to go. See if you can ask the owner to NOT run it for a half day or more before you get there, and run a compression test 'dry' BEFORE you start it up. In that way, any oil that might help seal bad rings up and make the readings look...

    Budgets make it tough..... darn. Yep, no way on that cylinder. Option: You could bore that one cylinder... not unknown at all. At a .030" oversize, it is a whopping 0.6 cubic inches larger out of 40 ci... a whopping 1.5% difference. You will get more variation than that from different ring...

    Ya know, you could get an all female tee with a male-to-male nipple with one end in the bottom of the tee and the other end of the nipple downward into the manifold, and then have the sensor face out the front side opposite the hose connection and it might be out of the hoses.

    Because it is a temperature switch for controlling a fan, not a temp sender for a temp gauge. Which are you seeking, and if you are wanting a temp sender for you gauge, is it the stock temp gague?

    We took the recommendation of others and drilled 4 extra holes (for a total of 8 ) in the filter adapter plate to reduce the restrictions there. Of course, you want to take it off of the engine first.....
