I have not yet installed the windshield. Waiting for my glass guy to do that. But I did read about installing the bolts upside down and when you look at all the clutter with the a/c and heater box, I am still wondering how you do that?? I don't think I am going to be removing my dash again...

That's OK. The radiator guy told me the aluminum radiator would help cool the tranny fluid better than the stock radiator. So I did not figure I needed a tranny cooler. But who knows.

    Chucks 72 Demon Build

I had to replace both lower quarter panels and also the inner trunk floor extensions and the small brace which gets welded inside the trunk. Both sides were weepy with pinholes, so we did both. Cut the panels below the body line and butt welded them together. I like to butt weld rather than...

    Chucks 72 Demon Build

Yes, I did think about it. The car has whats known as the Deluxe interior, which includes the woodgrain panel running down the interior door panels. I kind of thought I would like to leave the wood and a little of what belonged to the car when it was built.

Here is my restored and improved dash. I did away with the amp gauge and replaced it with a voltage meter. Did a total rebuild. New dash pad, metal painted with velvet black paint. New woodgrain and I had to add the indicator lights for the ebrake in red, the turn signals in green and the...

Got my hood done but am thinking about some different paint schemes? Motor was a joy except for clearance issues with the Dougs headers and the power steering box. Very close, but I guess that is how they are.

Motor is a stroked 71 340 to 416. Never did one of these. My buds at MRL helped me choose the block interior. Just working the dash now, so I can fire her up.

I also got the stock fitting condenser for the a/c installed. Fits real nice into all the stock holes. Using a sanden compressor. car is a factory a/c 340. Also got a good fit on the aluminum radiator and ended up with an aftermarket fan. Hope it cools ok without the shroud. Heard some...

    Chucks 72 Demon Build

wanted to share some of the work. Installed the MSD distributor, wires, control and coil. Hope I mounted them in a good space. The wires are real nice and the boots are very nice. I am making my own wire looms as the valve covers have bolts which will not allow stock looms. I am also using...

    Demon progress motor install

Ya, I know, strange, but I wanted to see some color between the wheels. Do you think they would look better if they were the Hemi Orange? I am not being a purist here.

    Demon progress motor install

Yes Pro-Magnum. The red brake drums match the red front disc calipers. I am not a purist and I think they give the wheels a little eye pop. Should I have done them Pink? I think the red is what they use on the new challengers,

Well, we finally slid the stroker under the car. Seems we may get her running this Spring. I seem to have a thing for EV2 Hemi Orange. Mopars are stacked up all over the neighborhood. Can you find them?

Well, I do have a dual snorkel scoop, so if it don't fit under the hood, maybe I can open the sheetmetal and the air cleaner can go up into the scoop??? Anybody here have hood closing issues with the air gap rpm manifold and a 5" thick air cleaner on a holley>????

    Stroker update pictures

Just ordered the 4" K&N filter as the one I chose originally only has a 2" tall filter. K&N pegged that one as flowing about 600 CFM. The 4" tall one will flow about 1050CFM. So even a little plugged it should be able to handle the air flow just fine. Now to be able to shut the hood??

    Stroker update pictures

Working on the little things now. Intake plugs, brackets, need to figure out a good approach for the wire looms to get fastened to these valve covers. Picked up a nice pair of stock 70 exhaust manifolds to start and break in the cam and then I will be installing my set of Dougs headers once the...

Picture Time Stroker getting close to startup

Just wanted to build a nice street cruiser. Scat 4" crank with Scat Ibeam rods and Icon forged dished pistons. Lunati voodoo 60404 flat cam with roller rockers and the Edelbrock closed chamber heads. Bored 30 over the 340 will become a 416. Tranny has a B&M TransPak and I had the torque...

Thought I would share these. Finally got the front end married to the motor. Waiting for bolts to install the tranny and we will be ready to slide her under. Need to get the TTI headers. Also have to get a 4" tall K & N filter to replace the 2" tall one shown. Need more filtration for the...

More Stroker Pictures and some questions?

Problem Solved. I installed the FelPro double rubber impregnated cork with the steel gasket in the center. These are like 3/16" thick. They are expensive but they got the covers to sit up plenty enough to clear the intake. I glued them to the cover with permatex gasket cement and was hoping...

    converter choice

well, made my choice. My tranny guy is having a unit built which will be in the 2600RPM range for the 416 stroker build. He put a B & M Transpak in the 727 and installed a deep aluminum pan for extra fluid. He also got me a solid flex disc and the converter will have three bearings and...
