Too much roll for a 64

check out Jim Lusk #8post. good info on including Torsion bars & Disc brakes while you are at it. Like my saying " It's got to stop and Steer before it is to go Fast" ! (My Daughter added that LOL )

Too much roll for a 64

I bought the Hellwig #55914 tubular (lite) set up for the '65 Barracuda that my Daughter and I are building for her as a D.D. ,Yes it is $ but I liked the mounting of the bar and end link hook ups. Bar is mounted up high (up high and tight less likely for her to drag it off !) and end links are...

Too much roll for a 64

Welcome to FABO ! Lots of good info here and good people also. NEW or USED, you are correct that Sway Bars are the 1st step. Look into some reasonably priced Performance Shocks. Not the best on the market but if you are on a tight budget (I am) the K-Y-B brand "Gas-A-Just " is a good shock for...

    Handling upgrade...what parts?

Firm Feel UCAs quality product, pre-installed bushings, weld plates on the bottom of the stock LCAs to help limit flex in that area. also subframe connectors you are going to install will help. If you or a friend can weld you should consider a K frame brace / gusset kit from firm feel to limit...

Emergency Brake Cable Routing with Frame Connectors

Thanks Rbob ! 1 pic is worth a thousand words. As I look at your 2nd picture, what I have is the cable stops just as it comes out of the Transmission cross member and hooks into an adjustable bracket. This bracket holds a cable that loops between the 2 rear emergency/parking brake cables that...

Emergency Brake Cable Routing with Frame Connectors

It is a '65 Barracuda, the cable comes out of the transmission cross member on the drivers side, connects to the "Y" cable connector (don't know what you call it) and it angles over right where the sub frame connector runs up to the transmission cross member. Thanks for the info and pic. !

Emergency Brake Cable Routing with Frame Connectors

I started installing connectors and want to do it right. Emergency Brake Cables run into them and wonder if there is a better route ? Or weld tubing so they will run through them, but the adjuster hits right into the Drivers side connector. Anyone have thoughts on this ? Thanks.

    Hellwig End Link Issue

I bought a front Hellwig Sway Bar for my Daughters '65 Barracuda part # 55914 and my end links hit the Aftermarket Adjustable Strut Rods I have already installed on her car. Rear suspension too stiff

HemiDenny has the right idea. Check to see if your Shakels are too tight, they do need to "Swivel" forward and backward. Could your Leaf springs be too long ? When you re-torqued the "U" bolts 68origional did it help ?! The suspence is killing US ! (or just me ) Let us know. Thanks, Tim :thumleft:

I would like to know the factory spring rate for a stock '65 Barracuda V8 car, not an "S" or anything just plain Jane auto V8 car. Does it vary from left (Drivers side)to right(Pass side)? Please specify if anyone knows. Thanks, Tim (Dad) :-D
