    Not to beat the dead horse but I also chased what I thought was a lifter tick. It turned out to be a loose header bolt.

    If your turning it slowly by hand I believe it could escape out the exhaust valve as previously mentioned. As you try to crank it with the start button it would try to compress it. Is there any signs of water coming from the headers when it does crank under power?

    Thats what I was getting at. Water won't compress and will stop it dead, I just hated to say it.

    Mikel did you pull the plugs to see if they were wet with antifreeze or if you spit out any water when you crank it by hand? My gut feeling is it's the starter.

    I was going to mention your previous problem of the loose starter could be reappearing and causing it to bind. Since you just mentioned it I would guess you already checked that.

    Comp Cams Xtreme Energy

    I have that same cam. I'm useing comps lifters and springs and crane Gold roller rockers and shafts and Manley valves all in Aluminum Eddie heads and Chrome Mopar valve covers w/out baffles. I don't here any excessive noise.

    I know that when I installed My MSD I marked and pointed the rotor to #1. When I installed the MSD I pointed the rotor to #1 and it wouldn't go in. I moved the rotor one space clockwise and everything slid in. Motor runs great! Thought it might of been the curve in the distributor.
