    Can do that with the 1/2", curious how it would react with no spacer at all. Slight differences in plenum and runner volume may affect the torque curve and where it peaks

    Grind down that unused mount and see if there is any difference between using a spacer versus none. Going to be trial and error in tuning but there could be some hidden horsepower there

    Have you considered the detroit tru trac? The helical gears design is smooth operating, no clutches or cones to wear out. I have one in my 9" in my s-10 and i'm very happy with it

    Dougs d453 clear everything. I have those on my 68 barracuda. 318 904 auto, power steering and power brakes. Have to unbolt the motor from the mounts and lift a little side to side as well as lower the power steering box a little, they go right in. You will need a 90 degree oil filter adapter...

    Yes the final ratio in 3rd will not change with the low gear planetary in the transmission. It only lowers 1st and 2nd gear giving you a little bit harder launch. That and with the 8.25 axle with 3.55:1 gears will change the whole feel of the car. Do the gears and axle first and you may be...

    Gears and axle first. I would build the 587 heads as they will outflow the 302's, however you will need a taller piston to counter the larger chambers otherwise you'll lower your static compression. Headers then will compliment the combination further. Just gets more expensive though

    2 years ago for me, I was in my dad's 70 Nova. 383 sbc t350 with 5500 stall, 4.56 spool and 29 10.50's. Went low 12's till I got a handle on the lights and best pass that day was 11.13 @ 120.

    Little 600 holley but the motor is dead stock. Just no traction that day, early Nov. and they weren't prepping the track at Tulsa. Car runs decent for was it is, now has dougs long tube headers and duals but I still have'nt rebuilt the motor

    68 barracuda 318 , 904 with stock converter, 3.23 sure grip and 245 60r15s went 16.45 @ 89mph. Launched too hard so I spun off the line till the 60 ft marker and didn't shift into third till just before the finish line
