Hey, another thing you can do is talk to Jamie at passon transmission, they offer a "slick shift" kit, which would be a improvement over the factory synchos, but still streetable. They also sell all the small parts, including "selective" washers for your endplay. I think you can replace those...

Cheapest option, look into the old "slick shift" modification. Its a poor mans transmission mod. Better than that would be send your gears to liberty gear and have them "pro shifted" Even better YET...........buy a jerico. But, with that clutch you have, your just going to keep breaking center...

A McCloud sof loc clutch is what you need, the violent grap of the clutch is what breaks things, and will continue to break things. They are adjustable to cushion the "hit", because either the tires or clutch have to have some give, otherwise things break.

If you really wanna stick with the factory box, you might be able to talk me out of a recently gone through a body "pro shifted" box done by liberty gear.....PM for details if you want...

you probally wont like my advise either, but if your gonna stick with the four speed, just go ahead and buy a jerico or something similar. The factory boxes are good, but you will spend as much on a old factory box eventually.

Ok, you see the input shaft gear. in the front? that has been machined and had a collar welded to it. It is worn out, and not something that can accept a syncro. That means, really, that box is raced and used up. In my OPINION, all you have good, is the cases halves, and maybe a good cluster...

For the street, you cant beat a centerforce dual friction. EASY pedal, smooth engagement and killer grip.. It is a diaphragm type.
