How do I find an 8 3/4 rear in the jy

My son bought an Explorer 8.8 with a 3.73 trak lok and disc brakes out of the junkyard for 150 bucks for his 67 notchback. The price is right and it is a strong differential.

    a833 B body/E body to A body conversion

You can install a long tail shaft four speed in an A-body, although you will have to shorten the driveshaft and make an adapter that moves the shifter location forward. Although, I would search for the tail shaft and output shaft from an A-body and do it that way.

Need your opinion. To rebuild or run as is?

I would run it as is. Since you are on a budget, I would run it as, except for changing axle tube seals, until you have good reason to do otherwise.

    Hydraulic clutch pedal question

I am planning on putting a hydraulic clutch in my 71 Barracuda. I called Centerforce about it, asking about how much travel the throwout bearing needs, they said 1/2 inch. I lean towards keeping the master cylinder rod near the stock location not to affect the pedal ratio too much and moving the...

    Hydraulic clutch pedal question

I have had to remove a slave cylinder in the past and rotate it so the bleed was on the top, bleed it, and then reinstall. Not sure why the factory (Nissan) did it that way.

I am looking for a four speed shifter for my E-body. I never have been a huge fan of the pistol grip shifter and plan to put in a ball shifter. Question: Do I really need a mopar specific comp plus shifter? I suspect that there isn't any difference. Reasoning, Hurst shifters advertised for...
