    B&M Flexplate

Crap. I should have mentioned that. I assumed internal balance.

    B&M Flexplate

    My pleasure.

    B&M Flexplate

For the cost of it, I would replace the flex plate. Hughes sells an SFI rated flex plate for around $50.

    Tranny Recommendations for 600 HP

True. My "junk" magnum block is half filled and stays plenty cool with the right radiator and enough fan to cool it.

LOL!!! I knew you'd get what I was referring to.

    Tranny Recommendations for 600 HP

Wow. Someone got offended. I build my own engines, and I have a stroker small block that has seen well over 600hp when it gets a 150 shot of spray, and it made over 50 passes in a 4800lb 4x4 truck, and is still happily alive in my Dart right now. The Dart (which also has a 904) gets driven on...

    Tranny Recommendations for 600 HP

This is beginning to sound like the BS rumor of a small block Mopar grenading at 600hp, isn't it?

How did you pick your torque converter?

It would be drivable, but sluggish (depending on the cam/compression/ low end torque), that's all. It's a pain to swap the converter after the engine and trans are already in, though. Not impossible, but a pain.

How did you pick your torque converter?

You're right about it being a neutral balanced unit. What are your overall goals with the car? Are you trying to squeeze every last bit of E.T. out of it f or racing, or are you using it more for street/strip and just messing around? If it's the latter, then the PTC unit that you're...

How did you pick your torque converter?

I think you'll be OK. I'm running a 9.5" converter that stalls around 3500-3800 with a Magnum 390 and a big *** cam. I'm also running 11:1 compression too, so that picks the bottom end back up a lot.

How did you pick your torque converter?

Definitely worth spending the money on a good one. I went with a 3500 stall BDR for my Dart, and so far, I'm really happy with it. I'll get some passes on it this summer.

    cheap vs expensive flexplate

http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/products.php?browse=category&level0=U21hbGwgQmxvY2snTEEnIDI3MywzMTgsMzQwIGFuZCAzNjAgZW5naW5lcw==&level1=RmxleHBsYXRlcw==&partid=25384 That's the plate I used on mine. It's SFI approved, and less expensive than the B&M

Build a 904 or buy one off the shelf?

I had my 904 rebuilt and beefed up some at a local shop this year, and it cost me $800 out the door. I'm running a stroker 318 in front of it, and I'm not afraid to hammer on it at all. I'll be putting it to the true test in the spring when I start racing the car.
