How much oil for this 440?

Holy cannoli! Drain the oil and replace the filter with whatever flavor you desire. Spill in 5 quarts and check the dipstick. If you're full, wonderful. If not, throw in another quart. Come on now!

single plane intake on the street

I run a Torker II with a Holley Street Avenger on the street in my 72 Dart with a slightly warmed over 440 and 3:23's. Runs great! I picked up a new Performer RPM intake, but never installed it. Quite frankly, I don't believe I will see that much of a benefit down low.

    radiator hose dart 440 swap

If I remember correctly, my upper hose was from a 70 small block dart. A little trimming and it worked just fine.

    Head removal question

I think you're on to something here. Makes alot more sense, for not too much more work!! I took a close look at is today and I would agree that removal would make the work I need to perform much easier and accessable. Thank you!

    Head removal question

Looking to do a head and cam change over the winter. Have TTI headers and clearance to the inner fender is rather tight, although I was able to replace the header gaskets (Percy's aluminum) with a bit of creativity. How much of a pain in the *** will it be to remove the heads, particularly, the...

    Torker 2 vs Performer RPM?

I agree with you. The converter doesn't allow me to get any rev's built before launch. Like I said, I'm not unhappy with the Torker. I just thought the Performer would be better.

    Torker 2 vs Performer RPM?

I'll double check on that number for you tomorrow. Don't hold me to it. Although, with a supposed 3000 stall convertor, I'm rolling at 1000rpm. My revs don't go up at all prior to movement.

    Torker 2 vs Performer RPM?

Drops maybe 50-75 rpm or so.

    Torker 2 vs Performer RPM?

By no means am I not satisfied with the Torker 2. I was just looking for a tad better low end response and figured the Performer RPM would help the issue. I am using an MSD box, by the way. The Hughes convertor I put in is way too tight!!! Even though it has an advertised 3000 stall, I'm locked...

    Torker 2 vs Performer RPM?

My '72 Dart 440 currently has a Torker 2 intake, mild cam, 770 Street Avenger carb, stock heads, TTI headers, 3000 stall Hughes convertor (which sucks!!), reverse manual valve body 727 and 4:10 gears. Timing is 18 degrees initial, 38 degrees total, no vacuum advance. Manifold vacuum is 6" at...
