    Painted Stripe Removal

Stripes are really old I'd say. The white paint is cracked. The car is 4.5 hours away or I'd just drive up and look at it in person.

    Painted Stripe Removal

Yeah I was really excited about the car until a friend of mine pointed out the stripes didn't match, Then I had the owner send some more detailed pics, and they're not even close. I've read a lot about using oven cleaner, graffiti remover, or lacquer to remove the paint, I just don't want to...

    Painted Stripe Removal

It looks like they didn't prepare the paint, and just shot it on there. It looks like old school single stage paint.

    Painted Stripe Removal

Thanks for the insight, that seems to be the consensus. I love the color of the car, I just hate that someone painted a stripe on it. The stripes aren't symmetrical on both sides. Seems like a cool car though, 340, bucket seats, center console, moonroof car.

    Painted Stripe Removal

I found a 73 duster on craigslist for sale that I'm really interested in. Husband and wife inherited it after her dad died, they don't know too much about the car, but they believe it to be original paint. Engine bay looks to have been repainted at one time. Someone removed the factory stripe...

    Removing painted on pinstriping

The guy I bought my duster off of had some pinstripes painted on his car after it was repainted. Does anyone have any suggestions or best practices for removing the pinstripes? I've watched a couple videos where guys have used lacquer thinner and had pretty good luck. I just don't want to mess...

Questions on adding a vinyl top

Thanks for the info zkx14, I'm guessing I can buy the studs and screw or weld them onto the roof? I think a vinyl top would look good on the car. It looks damn good on your dart Brian.

Questions on adding a vinyl top

I recently bought a 74 duster, and I would really like to add a half vinyl top. I bought all the trim that I need and it should be shipped soon. What does the molding fasten to? Does it screw down? Is there anything else I need to purchase before I take it in to have it done? Thanks for...

    Trunk Weather stripping?

I just bought my trunk weather stripping at soffseal as well. So far its done a great job. Seals the trunk tight. I got caught in rain the other night, and no leaks. When I talked to the lady on the phone she said her recommendation was 3M weather strip adhesive. It did a fine job holding mine...

    Which Dart grill looks better?

They both look good but I like the 70-71 better... I got lucky, my 72 dart was built in August of 71, and it has the 71 grille from the factory!
