How close, is to close for rad fans to water pump pulley space

I had a very similar set up with 10" fans, but they drew a lot more air, I believe it was close to 1800cfm each.. I overheated because the shroud did not allow enough air to move through the radiator. I was going to cut more holes in the shroud but ended up going back to the factory fan, shorter...

    Mounting a stock shroud on a Champion 22" radiator - 73 Duster

I've got to do this with mine. I mounted the shroud on the engine side of the radiator tab. This is much cleaner, just another thing to add to my list of things to do.

    Heater core outlet diameter

Very good point, I didnt think about that. My car was originally a A/C car so maybe that is why that heater core was 5/8, 5/8.

    Heater core outlet diameter

I can tell you that my 71 has 1/2 and 5/8. I do believe that they changed in 73 to 5/8" for both. However, either of the heater cores will fit from my experiance.

    Water pump outlet modifications

Thanks for your input, I was thinking it still might be to tight of a bend for the bypass hose, but its good to know it can be done.

    Water pump outlet modifications

I have a Magnum intake on my LA360 and I've never really liked cutting the bypass hose shorter and kinking it to get it to bend from the water pump to the intake. I've been looking around and see they already make water pumps that have the threaded connections, but they are very expensive...

    Champion Radiator and Factory Shroud

To be honest I never even tried a bolt in them since 2 of them fell out while putting it in the car. But I would be guessing that they are metric.

    Champion Radiator and Factory Shroud

Yep, thats the model and I was going to but they where not crimped very tight and 2 fell out, before I even had it installed. I pulled those out (very easily) and installed my own 1/4-20 nutserts

    Champion Radiator and Factory Shroud

Its a standard 7 blade fan, I've never measured it.. The pics however are deceiving, there is about a 1/2" gap perhaps more between the fan and shroud all the way around it.

    Champion Radiator and Factory Shroud

I did the foam tape thing and also bought some door weather stripping, like what is around the doors on newer vehicles. I didnt notice a difference at all, with or with out it. It also didnt look that good when you popped open the hood. So I took it off. Here are the pics for you.

    Champion fittings ?

The cooler lines are 1/8" NPT to 5/16 inverted flare for the cooler lines. You should be able to get a fitting at any local auto parts store. I bought my radiator from Gary, but I have not seen him post in awhile. Hopefully he gets back to you soon

    Champion Alum Radiators, anyone?

I've got 22" Champion in my car. Here are my likes and dislikes Likes: Car runs nice and cool. Good cheap replacement that functions well. Dislikes: Only top two bolt holes lined up, had to redrill the lowers. Shroud nut inserts came right out, had to replace with my own. Overall Im...
