My dad had this motor in a dart he bought 20 yrs ago and yes he ran it. Motor was suppose to have went 7.40-50s. I believe the heads are just home ported no big expensive job.

Pistons I have no clue, had them for a long time. Local pump gas is 93. Heads have been ported and polished a lil and has big valves

tubtar i completely undersand that bigger isnt always better, im not here asking if a huge roller will work with my stock stuff just asking for what people have found to work best. im not going to over cam but nor do i want to undercam either

Well thats my main goal,to have something that i runs on pump gas and i dont have to pop the hood on at the track.

yea i know that the old trw's are a lil hevy but hate to spend uneeded money when i dont have to. i may try callinga few places this week and geeting a custom ground cam

I wonder what the rpm range is on that cam? been meaning to call but havent had a chance. Wouldnt mind using it being that ive already got it but dont want to have to turn the motor sky high with it either.

Yea we figured they way we were going to build would possibly make around 700 Hp or so. We would really like to stay with a sb but have also contemplated on building a bb 451 or so. Can anyone give me a decent power making combo for a 451. Which one would ultimately be better for the money???

Well we plan on building a 408 stroker for our drag car and we wouldnt mind having a decent set of W2's but as pricey as some Ive seen are we might as well buy so aluminum heads and get more out of it in the long run, but as rare as small block mopar stuff seems to be we might change directions...
