5.9 Magnum to replace Older 360, flexplate?

I used the mopar performance flexplate with mine and it is weighted and the TQ converter is neutrally balenced. On a 2000 5.9 it will be balenced with the flexplate MP also offers a weight kit for your TQ converter if you want to run a non-weighted flexplate

    Torque converter noise

Ok here the latest update, I followed rbdart suggestion (thanks by the way!)and transmission did take about 1 more quart of fluid I drove it and checked fluid level and it was fine. I took her on a 25 mile road test and listened carefully and have to say it is more of a buzz than a whine, it's...

    Torque converter noise

So I've check everything over and I think that I have air in the converter, this transmission set-up I know will use 14.5 quarts because I have a buddy with the same set up. Mine also has the aux. cooler on it so I should use more I would think around 15.5 quarts. so far it's only taken 13.5 to...

2002 dodge truck (1500) trans (any tech guys)

The 1491 is a Evap code not transmission related - to 700 is a etax controller signal telling you their are fault present in the transmission control module hate to say but your going to need to take it some where that has a professional grade scanner

2002 dodge truck (1500) trans (any tech guys)

You cycle the key 3 times and leave it in the on position - faults come up in odometer display

2002 dodge truck (1500) trans (any tech guys)

I personally think you should try to cycle the key to see if any more faults are present. I found this method is better that the parts store el cheap o scanner. There has to be more info than just the gear ratio error

2002 dodge truck (1500) trans (any tech guys)

2002 dodge truck (1500) trans (any tech guys)

The fault they pulled off p-0736 is for "gear ratio error in reverse" List of possiable causes are 1. other related DTC's causing fault 2. intermittent gear raito errors 3. Internal Transmission problems. A TPS will not fix this problem unless there is related tps faults in system. Most of the...

    not a A body but....

Mac, did you make any progess on the jeep ?
  22. venomvpr900

    not a A body but....

You probally need to start by removing transmission pan again and check to make sure filter is seated fully. there is a o-ring on the filter snout and if it is fully seated in the valve body or pinched the transmission will have a hard time building pressure. hope this helps

I have had the cone type in my dakota for 5 years and 40K miles with no problems. It's in a 9.25 diff and has taken alot of abuse on the street and probally 75-100 passes at the track. still leaves dual marks for 20-30 yards I have liked it and would recommend it to anybody

Not an A body but still Mopar NEED HELP!

Is an 8.25 rear with 2.74 gears upgradable to better gears?

grumpus hit the nail on the head, I would recommend checking out randy's ring and pinion ringandpinion.com they have alot of options and if you have quesitions you can call them up - I've had great experiences with them
  29. venomvpr900

    magnum matched to 904

I figured taking a little out of each was better than alot out of one. I'll just have to wait and see. If it ends up causing a problem I'll be swaping flexplates and adding weights. I'm confident it's going to be ok, maybe I'll try to get a few pics up
  30. venomvpr900

    magnum matched to 904

Yes the correct flexplate I have but it is not weighted to balence the magnum motor so you have to weld weights onto converter. No problems here just explaining the method of my madness
