My Valiant on Big Muscle! Give it a watch!

That's just awesome! Killer build, Shannon! I also love the "why a Valiant?" reactions I get when I tell people I'm resto-modding one. I'd like to know more about the suspension, brakes and steering mods!

So I found another '72 on CL ... Opinions?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. As they say, the cheapest one always ends up the most expensive one. I think I'll keep looking.

So I found another '72 on CL ... Opinions?

'72 Valiant, 4-door, slant 6, "needs new transmission" Fair amount of visible surface rust in a few places - passenger c-pillar is the biggest concern from the pics. http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/3679857949.html I haven't emailed yet, but I'm considering arranging a visit Saturday...

    what do you think?

The majority opinion seems to be "lose 'em" but it's your car, run what you like. I also like the idea of getting some advertising cash.

    An SRT Barracuda?!?

Those C&D sketches are terrible. The photoshop job from allpar isn't much better. It looks like someone crammed a late 60's 'cuda tail panel onto the back of a pontiac solstice coupe and found some random diffuser to squeeze in below.

What a steal, Rust free 4 door Valiant

I saw that one while searching. Nice grab! Go with a turbo'd six!

    '63 Savoy for sale

That is a cool car! There are a lot of cars from the 50's and 60's that I have no knowledge of, simply because they've been ignored, or just weren't ever popular with the hotrod crowd. Thanks for bringing another old model to my attention. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm digging...

    Custom Cane with mopar flavor

I imagine using an old slant-6 cam with a U-joint out of a steering linkage for the foot would be rather heavy as a cane. it would certainly get comments at car shows though! Maybe a machine shop could hollow it out a bit?

    Graveyard Carz

I've only seen a little bit of graveyard. Sadly, not enough of the cars to really keep my interest for an entire episode. Which is unfortunate because they get to work on some pretty serious metal. Of all the car shows, I like Wheeler Dealers the most. It's not an hour long commercial for a...

Checking for rust … common areas?

I like the '72 front end more as well, however I'm looking to build a clone of my Dad's old car, which was a '73 more door. Trimmed out like this white '72, with a vinyl roof. 3300 lb car + 2100lb trailer towed by my Ranger (5600lb rating) over Snoqualmie might be pressing my luck–especially...

Checking for rust … common areas?

This is concern #1. I would hope that getting a view from underneath/behind the quarters would be of a benefit. However, I just found this: http://kpr.craigslist.org/cto/3286205464.html How hard would it be to turn this into a '73? Front fenders, hood and grille? I could actually get down...

Checking for rust … common areas?

This is the listing I'm looking at. Yeah, it's a ways off, but I'm hoping that a life in Reno helps with the rust accumulation… http://reno.craigslist.org/cto/3186482387.html

Checking for rust … common areas?

Great points all around on checking for rust! I figured it would pretty tough to do online with a bunch of photos. I'll spend some time going through the restorations threads to get a better handle on what rusts the worst (aside from "all of it") I'm looking at '73s out of sentiment. My dad...

Checking for rust … common areas?

So I've found what looks like a solid, driver condition '73 Valiant that I'm quite interested in. I've asked the seller about providing photos of the frame rails at the upper control arm mounts, rear quarters/inner fenders, floorboards and trunk floor. She will be able to get photos of...
