Try another source for the u-joint. My guess would be a local driveshaft shop, like Sadler, not sure if they are nationwide or in your location.

Eh, those aren't the worst. My Buell uses T30 torx for like 90% of the fasteners and it's pretty nice, but I also have kept it inside so there's not really any rust issues that I'll ever have to deal with.

Look down the carburetor throat and confirm you get a STRONG squirt of fuel as soon as you move the throttle all the way to wide open and report back please.
