What is the horse power benefits

Only because it’s newer. Ether drill the passage or like in the case of most serious heads, use pushrod oiling. Rockers for this set up can be purchased for standard Edelbrock heads. Easily done for a LA and any serious roller will need work done to the blocks oiling passages anyway. OK @...

A QUICK QUESTION ABOUT MANIFOLD VACUUM

That's a lot of initial for such a mild combo. I would suspect its very lean at idle to require that much advance.

Piedmont Mopars show @ Farmington Dragway 5-11-24 Farmington, NC

It's easy to get there if you are already on 40. Just pretty much off the exit. If you travel 77 then about 20 miles off the exit from 77/ 421 interchange. I went there in 2017 or 2018. Great show! Enjoy!

    Starter issues

I always use the 130 tooth flywheel and ring gear torque converters with the Dakota mini starters. 383, 360, 318 all use the same mini starter. ☆☆☆☆☆

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Just trying to learn. Why is this so much worse than hand priming? Is it the initial movement not having oiling? If the oil pump is primed shouldn’t that oil flow right away?

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

continued... next concern is making sure the oil seal can press in. Read one comment that someone with this aftermarket intake ruined a few because the diameter was too small. the seat diameters on both seem to be close so ill take my time pressing it in if possible.

    2.76 vs 2.94 gearing

You said freway driving, that means 2.76. My 67 Dart 273 2bbl 2.71 gears, 225-70-15 rear tires. Get 20-21 mpg. A big help would be the A&A Transmission part throttle kickdown kit, it helps drivability a bunch. .

k.. i only plan on using a block, just wanted to make sure there wasn't something bout that.. i have LA roller right now but only 318.. keeping a eye out for a 360 roller, there is a 1990 near me for $300 but has magnum heads so not sure if it would have the la oil holes drilled.. guy could...

    2.76 vs 2.94 gearing

Depending on your current power output and how you drive it you may actually get less mileage with the 2.76 gears than the 2.94 ratio because the engine will have to work harder trying to pull on those taller gears (numerically lower). Tom

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

Update: Didn't get anywhere with Mancini. I've found OEM covers that would work on ebay as a back up, As well as a source here. I've been measuring and test fitting my OEM cover and the NEW one. All the bolt holes line up, the crankshaft seems center in both openings visually. The only issue is...

What is the horse power benefits

Well they all have roller camshafts, true 9:1 compression, better rings, better heads, don’t leak water out of the exhaust manifold bolt jackets, seal better on intakes, valve covers. The 5.2 camshaft is a better decent RV grind as well

I guess this is the theme for 2024

I’ve seen years like that. My local program was Wednesday nights. You didn’t get time to screw around because you have to be done by 2200 hours. Anyway, we’d get several nice days in a row and come Wednesday morning and the clouds roll in. Scattered showers all day and wouldn’t you know it...

    2.76 vs 2.94 gearing

...what would happen if I had 2.76 (about a 15% reduction in RPM) going the same speed but only doing about 2500 rpm... That being said I have a 3.55 8.75 axle I'm going to be putting in soon *sigh* I guess I am a glutton for punishment... But maybe it'll motivate me to start my OD project sooner.

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

If you have an extra cam on hand you can see where the oil holes are and figure out where the crankshaft needs to be to oil the top end. All cams should be drilled the same way since I'm sure it is part of the spec. On a big block one side oils when the crank is TDC split overlap. The other...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Best way I can think of to kill a cam. Or the bearings or bushings in roller lifters. It’s pretty simple to turn the engine by hand to get oil up top. Laying on the starter to do it is asking for cam failure.
