New Crossmember for the Missile's 545RFE

Here are the pics of the modified cross member. I got most of the design from Tincup. The 'H' member under the tranny, replaces the piece that bridges over the tranny for stiffness. Its made out of two pieces of 3"x3/8" barstock, one of which is the mounting surface for the 545RFE. Andrew

Since Im going to cut the axle down anyway, why cant I just get the whole rear axle from...

Anyone Put A 545rfe In An A Body?

Someone in one of the threads sent me down this rabbit trail. Ive looked into the 545RFE tranny and it looks apealing as far as gearing goes and strength seems not to be a problem. Has anybody done this swap and what other than structural issues needs to be done to control it. Andrew

In Need Of Some 8 3/4 Technical Info

last Friday I went to Texas acres and got a 8 3/4 rear that Don assured me would fit in the duster. He said it was only 1/4" different. I did not have my note book or a measuring tape so I took his word for it. Needless to say he was wrong! He did say it was out of a B body and was clearly...
